Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Not quite silkie dark. About halfway there. The yellowish color is because there is that gene in some of the silkies I have. It's incorrect and really hard to eliminate as it's recessive.

The other two have what looked like white skin on hatch but it will darken to a grey. Similar to what those half silkie cockerels I ate recently were. Takes a long time to get back to standard.

I'm curious if I'll get a blue egg out of any of these. 25% chance for that. That is what I'm playing around for on them.

The saga of the silkies...

It's been a while since I posted about my 5 silkies and I'm sad to say that they all ended up being cockerels and none of them are around any more. I rehomed one with a crazy lady who gave him back to me because she thought he was "a rapist rooster" and was taking advantage of her hens.

I dispatched two myself. The remaining three I gave to my brother-in-law (because I had no where else to put them) and the elements got them :(.

They were all awesome little guys, extremely friendly and while they were alive at my BIL's property they would follow him around everywhere and he loved them.

My three remaining ladies (buff brahma and novogens) are doing great and I just bought 5 new chicks from Wilco: 3 silver laced wyandottes, and 2 Welsommers. They are doing great as well, separated by chicken wire from the big girls, with a Premier heater which is awesome.

Hey there love my 4 silky girls but they have their own coop ..
My 32 others are all big girls two cockerel two larger coops
