Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

If you can take front and side photos we can tell more .. Easier to do with help on photos
Thank you , I will do that soon and post to the sex/breed thread. If it would just stop freaking raining!:p Tillie is still up in the air, but I swear Daisy is a boy at this point. The feathers are totally different and 'her' behaviour at 7 weeks is not what I have encountered with hens so far. The face is different too. Heavier and less delicate somehow.

So I set up my new Ratinator trap on Tuesday and wired it open for a couple days with cat food in it. Then took off the wire.

Nothing Thursday night.

Put some peanuts in. Nothing Friday night.

Put some chicken food in. Got four last night.

Had to shoo off the german shepherd so she wouldn't damage the trap trying to get to them when I took it out to the pond to dispose of them. Ive watched her crush chainlink between her jaws so this wouldn't stand a chance. She loves killing rats.
Good for your shepherd! I have a tiny cat who was feral when I got her, but I have tamed her somewhat so she will interact with the family at least (and in the winter take up too much space on the bed for a 5 pound runt). I don't get many rodents because she is an excellent hunter and has been seen eating (ugh) huge rats. I have another male cat who catches mice and shrews.

Glad to see the trap worked. I haven't had a lot of luck with them. Damn beasts around here are too canny, then again, I never tried chicken food. Thanks for the suggestion.

My cats hunt shrews, voles, and small rats. They were barn kittens not that you can tell now. They show they are from this area by not caring about rain unless it's pouring. It's been heavy enough today when I let the dogs out that the cats declined.
