I'm chiming in to say welcome to the group! I live on the East Side, so I don't know much of what goes on over where you are! I hope you have pullets and not roos!
I hope so too, although today I noticed some pointier hackle feathers coming in on one of them, The feather patterns on this one just look different than any of the hens I've raised.
My names for the 2 chicks were Tillie and Daisy. My son asked me what I would call them if they were roosters. I figured Tilly would become Tyl and Daisy would remain Daisy because I would think it funny to have a rooster named Daisy. If either are mean they will be called 'dinner'.

Daisy is the one who is looking very boyish tho. I swear this sort of thing happens anytime I let the clerks at our local farm store pick my chicks for me. Last time they gave me one poor dozy chick that was laying off to the side, I nursed her through, but Daphne was genetically not that great and died suddenly this fall, leaving us heartbroken. This time, I put in an order and picked them up, I swear they must grabbed a couple from a straight run bin. Next time at the races I will supervise and make sure the order is made up of active healthy chicks from a sexed batch.

So I set up my new Ratinator trap on Tuesday and wired it open for a couple days with cat food in it. Then took off the wire.

Nothing Thursday night.

Put some peanuts in. Nothing Friday night.

Put some chicken food in. Got four last night.

Had to shoo off the german shepherd so she wouldn't damage the trap trying to get to them when I took it out to the pond to dispose of them. Ive watched her crush chainlink between her jaws so this wouldn't stand a chance. She loves killing rats.

Went hiking at Lower hawks pond!
