Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

We had some super high winds in Gig Harbor. I am glad I haven't mounted the tarp yet on my hoop run. Now I am rethinking how I will secure the hoop to the ground. Maybe the rebar ground hooks are the way to go.

If you get high wind alerts and crazy rain in the forecast, do you just leave the chickens closed up in the coop for the day, or are they good to seek shelter when the weather gets nasty?

My ameraucana and EEs will go inside out of the rain so I don't have to keep them locked in. They are locked in because of coyotes right now.

The silkies on the other hand. I keep them locked in becuase they will NOT come in out of the rain. They know water wets down their crests and don't care if they soak their bodies.
