Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Good afternoon all, ☕
Having what’s left of this mornings coffee, just finished vacuuming and I made a pan of red chili beef enchiladas for dinner.
Hope everyone’s having a good day

Chicken question? Have any of you had Welsummers ? Mine are in their 15th week. We have a ways to go yet before they start laying, but, I have read they don’t lay until their 25 weeks????? Really? Do you think this is right?

I haven’t had welsummers, but even hatchery easter egger don't lay until 27-29 weeks. I'd assume the welsummers were similar because they havent had a ton of hatchery leghorns bred into them to up egg production, and early maturity.

The wanning light of autumn also slows maturity. I like hatching silkies in autumn just so they will begin laying sooner in spring.
