Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hi y'all!
Haven't posted in a bit but still been spending alot of time in the coupView attachment 3469232
This is Lilly - she is our one freeloader in the flock of 11 but we love her and until recently she was great with the flock. For some reason now our rooster has taken to chasing her everywhere and damaging her (beak, comb) - the other girls are fine with her - it's just our rooster.

Half our flock (6 six counting the roo) are our original group we got about a year ago. The new girls (5of them) have been fully integrated since January and until a week ago all was well.

We're getting 8-9 eggs a day from the others so you think it's just cause she doesn't lay? She will squat for him fine and he mounts her but then tries to pick her to death. Is it just the season (spring) and rooster hormones?
Ironically all seems to forgiven at night - they even perch right next to each other!

Can you put the rooster in a different pen for a bit let him grow a bit.
A dog crate?
We actually have a second coup (like you see at the feed stores) in a separate fenced yard that we usually open up to all the birds - we tried putting him in there but if the other birds can see him they squak!

Since the weather is getting better we talked about keeping him in there - you think it's just an age/time thing and he'll outgrow it?
