Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I just read that a mixture of one or two tablespoons of Dawn dish detergent in a cup of water is effective at killing wasps (and any other insects). I might give it a try if they get too bad, though the swallows have been here again today helping out.

I've been working on the run today. I have the second front post in place and attached the front base board.
Do we get photos? Bought allot of started plants at Sunbirds in Chehalis called cheating ?
Dawn dish soap will do allot.

Alright, alright. I'll run out there now with my camera and take some pictures!

It's not cheating. Probably smarter. But I wanted to start gardening in January, so starting seeds was the only way to satisfy my hankerin'.

Here are pics of the run progress, front and side. Where the pair of 4x4s is will be where the door will go. Just decided that. It would be easier to pull the wheelbarrow up to the door from that direction. Along the bottom of the coop, I'll close that in with sections of plywood. Hardware cloth will be above that in the back, and across the top, all the way to the ceiling.

Chickens!!! My little light colored one, well, I still have a feeling it's a pullet, not a cockerel. They all seem to have some shade variations.

Next one enjoyed having her picture take. At first. Then she got mad! LOL

I dont see anything that says rooster so far. Combs pinking up a little in pullets is normal.
Yeah, but I guess you don't know until eggs start popping out. I want a Barred Rock rooster, but it's better if I get one with good genetics from a reputable breeder. From something other than hatchery/production quality chicks.

I'd really like to have one or two hens brood some chicks someday.

Any ideas where to get a good little BR rooster?
