Looks like it will be a nice day today. Mid 70's and slightly cloudy.

And I have no big plans at all for the day. Just going to make some salad dressings, roast some chilis and maybe get some reading in.

No big plans either here we have sun so far.
Took hot dogs out Costco did this test run of hot dogs.
putting like 2 pkg quantity in one package.
They have brought back the three hooked together.

I'm in Graham but am actually closer to Kapowsin. Unincorporated county outside the Urban Growth Area, and enough wetlands to prevent any buildup. We actually only use about 2 acres of the shy 18 we have.

When we bought, I refused any HOA and tried to avoid any lahar danger areas. Needed 5 acres to have no animal restrictions in Pierce County.

Great information, thank you! That is our first priority also, no HOA. I understand why people like them, just not for us.

They sell lovely breeds and have hatching eggs.

Ive seen them. I usually buy frm SQ long time breeders. And there's a bunch of hatching eggs on the way now.
Now we need sun and warmth for these green beans and pumpkins to ripen up.

I've only had a few get ripe too. I think it's been a little too cool for the tomatoes this summer. I'm still waiting for it to get hot enough for me to have to use my new air conditioner.

I even planted a couple that were supposed to do well in cool temperatures. Oregon Spring and Stupice. They're all pretty much green like the Romas and Early Girls.

Ya I ripped a gourd off green and white opened with a pair of scissors gave it to the birds.

So I have to ask, no venison in the freezer? Hubby would like deer coming to the garden…

I decided to go ahead and try to put some venison in the freezer (and make jerky!). Archery season opens in less than two weeks here. The license is good for any deer, buck or doe. Time to get my target, my bow and arrows out and start working on my aim.

Jerky, yum. Anything made with venison is good.

I let the venison go today. Rather not eat that roast, it was too small.



Deer were in the garden. Dog freaked and started barking when we stepped outside. Had to shove dogs inside. The 2 does had a fawn with them. Does jumped fence, fawn tried 3 times and on the third time it got head through a top fence hole and body went over fence.

Yelled for hubby to help and grabbed metal snips. I managed to get the poor thing a little breathing room but couldn't cut the wire one handed. Hubby got out there and cut it. Mama had actually stayed back so we could free the baby. She's the one who ignores me outside
