Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I'm trying to root some sprigs of rosemary in water, got them at my son's house yesterday. Sprigs are in a tiny glass of water, the glass is in a bowl of water to add humidity, the whole thing covered by another glass container to contain the moisture. Hope I get at least one to make roots.

Also made the beginnings of sauerkraut yesterday with my DIL. I shredded a 5 pound head of cabbage, mixed it with some salt and worked it until it released enough juice to totally cover the cabbage. A sealed baggie of salt water is on top to hold the cabbage under the surface while it ferments.

Hey all!! I'm a Californian right now but my family is looking to move up north, somewhere in the Chehalis area - does anyone have links to helpful info on keeping chickens, quail, ducks, etc in the Chehalis/Lewis County area? I emailed the city and their answers were helpful but kind of vague. Any tips and advice are welcome too. Thanks in advance!

What kind of info are you looking for? Those of us that live in rural areas of Lewis County don't really have any restrictions on keeping chickens, etc. I'm sure there are in town regulations, so it would matter where you are moving.

Wow, guys...we're still sick!!! Basically only doing what we have to around here. Clean the coop every day and give them their food, treats and water, feed the wild birds and squirrels. We are eating minimally, so I'm not getting into any fancy dinners. We've both lost nearly 15 lbs in a week!!! Mostly we are just sitting around looking at each other. lol

You catch Covid? When we both got sick with it that happened to us. Lost appetite to go with all the coughing

The first time that I'm pretty sure I had it was worse than that. Lost smell, couldn't eat. Couldn't breathe. Overused inhaler and almost ended up at hospital
