Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I chopped down one big clump of chives, sorted, washed, chopped into 1" lengths and bagged for the freezer. I got a one gallon bag packed tight, plus a small bag of chive blossoms. Total weight... 1.5 pounds. Now to figure out how to eat that many chives. And there are many times that amount more left in the garden.

Maybe I need to think about growing chives next year. That is an herb I use every week as well as parsley, dill and cilantro.
Chives are well worth growing, it grows easily and reseeds easily, and I like it on a lot of egg dishes.

I ran the weed eater and cleaned up around all the garden beds and trimmed down the weeds in the ditch along the road.

Fertilized the dill and beets and watered the garden. I need to start picking, eating and freezing my kale and collards. They're getting big. I still have frozen greens from last year I need to cook, too.

This is the fertilizer I used. Decomposed weed (and grass) tea, diluted with water.
