Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I watered the garden good this morning and was planning to work on the deer fence but that didn't work out. I spent all morning disconnecting the water line that goes to the refrigerator since my new fridge won't need one. Then I hopped on the riding mower and cut the grass. That was enough for one day.

My son cooked cilantro lime chicken for supper. Good stuff!

Cilantro Lime chicken is the bomb!!!
It was great!

I moved the fridge out of the way in preparation for the new one coming tomorrow, and as I suspected the floor underneath was filthy. I'll pull out the bottle of ammonia tomorrow morning and clean it up.

I let the big girls out to forage for a couple hours today. When they started messing with my pepper patch I acted like their rooster and led them away and got them back into the run and locked up for the night. The teenagers didn't understand that the run's door led to freedom, so they didn't try to get out when the big girls went outside.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the thread! I'm from a tiny town in the PNW of Washington state. Colville to be exact 😊. I have 4 beautiful Rhode island reds hens. No roosters. 2 dogs ( well more like humans) 2 grand daughters and the man. I love hunting, fishing camping and hiking. I have a bakery that does custom berries and other treats. But for the most part it is me and the girls ( they are my happy place) . 2 that are laying everyday 1 who had a lash egg ( been raising chickens for years and never had or seen one before) she no longer lays eggs but is fat ( to me) and sassy (3.4 lbs) 1 that is broody who I cannot break for the life me, ezzy is small losing weight ( going to worm this week, and up protein intake I guess 16% layer crumbles isn't good enough) and lou lou she just sassy 😉.
Welcome!!!!!!

Went out and moved the sprinkler, got more coffee,
after I feed the Tony dog, Ill shut the sprinkler off and let the pressure tank recover. I need to go to the garden. AFTER I WATER,
I STILL need to get woodchips down around the lavender beds.
DH......put all the carboard in the dumpster............
I dont know it that was before or after the trash truck came so I'll go look, I may need my hoe to get it out if its still in there.

I picked most of the garlic scapes today. Some are for the rabbit I'm cooking later, the rest I made into a pint of garlic scape pickles.

I think I got my rabbit recipe figured out, and a lot of the ingredients are from the garden.

that pesky rabbit
1.5 pints tomato sauce
1 cup chives
garlic scapes
whole radishes
1/4 cup olive oil
2 Tbs lemon juice
1 cup chicken stock (or enough to barely cover rabbit)
oregano
thyme
tarragon
lemon balm
salt
cracked black pepper

brown rabbit pieces in Dutch oven
cover with all the other stuff
braise slow for a few hours

rice on the side
