Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Mariners? Is that basketball?
Never watch basketball here. Baseball I usually do not watch sports.
The team was the caliber to go all the way.
Have not had that in years I know it was fun. The teams where of the same caliber of pitchers. I think we will go to town Chehalis I have 4 meds to pick up.

I sorted through all the ripening tomatoes on the countertop. I put two more gallons of Romas in the freezer, have another gallon or so left to ripen and I'm cooking all the imperfect ones with onion, garlic and herbs to make some stewed tomatoes to eat on for a few days.

So far I have 6 gallons of Romas and 1 gallon of round tomatoes in the freezer for making salsa and sauce in the future.

Yeah, I think I'll go through the tomatoes I have still to can and see which ones I need to get processed today. At least get 6 pints in the canner. Then finish them on Tuesday. I left ripe tomatoes in the refrigerator while we went to San Diego last week and they were still good for my sauce yesterday, so I'm sure I'm good until Tuesday with these. Still a few green ones in the box in the rabbit hole.

Picked all the peppers from the patch. Got quite a few habaneros and jalapenos and a few Hatch chilis. They're washed and in the freezer with the tomatoes now, waiting to become salsa.

I plan to pot up a couple of the habanero plants and try to keep them alive in the house over the winter.

I'm starting to think that it would make more sense to just buy the bell and jalapeno peppers I need at the store next year instead of growing them. I'll still grow a couple habanero plants for fun though.

Those look great! I did grow bell peppers, but they are still on the plant and too small, so I bought some for my marinara. I won't be growing them next year.

I did order my seeds this morning for next year from Eden Brothers. I have had to take too many tough cores out of the roma tomatoes, so I'm going with Bonnie Best next year. I'll be growing tomatoes, garlic and green beans for the most part. Not sure I'll plant anything else. Of course I'll have herbs in the green house and chives will come back, I think. Making the whole thing simple. We have so many great sources for veggies around here, so mostly just growing for the fun of it.

Except for the garlic. I think that one is a must. :old
