But, we have decided we are not culling any chickens unless it is for their own good, such as health issues. Yes, Cooper still has his own pen and coop. We are now thinking abut additional outdoor shelters for him so he can be where the flock is, but on his side of the fence.
Well, the offer is still there if you want some barred rock ladies to keep him company, free of charge. We also feed a lot of free-loaders.But, we have decided we are not culling any chickens unless it is for their own good, such as health issues. Dang, idk why that didn’t occur to me, I have parrots!I wouldn't bother to paint roosting bars. Just a thought to save you some time. It won't stay painted. Those little claws walking back and forth will wear off the paint, I think. Anyway, ours are not painted.
And wallpaper? Looks like a mini apartment.Dang, idk why that didn’t occur to me, I have parrots!
Well I ended up swapping to PVC board in the hope that it wipes down more easily.
We got the auto door on, the latch for the coop door, and finished the inside walls and trim. But I had to run a bunch of errands so I’ll be adding the roost bars, ramp & the hardware cloth on the floor tomorrow.

Well, my logic was that peel and stick is vinyl and in my experience it’s cheap and easy to wipe clean. The floor is just cheap peel and stick too, I am going to put wood shavings over it. We have white silked EEs and even indoors in a brooder pen they sometimes need a spot clean; I figure if the coop is pretty and easy to wipe up with a wet wipe I won’t end up with faux-buff silkie mixesAnd wallpaper? Looks like a mini apartment.
