Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Their sleeping place of choice is smashed up against the 1/4in hardware cloth. Not to mention, it’s drafty and wet when it rains down there versus the coop!
Apparently they don't mind. My birds squabble over who gets to sleep next to the open windows on either end of the roost, even down to single digits. And we've been having a relatively warmer and drier winter thus far...

Good morning to you all.
Wet not raining, cleaned the trash burner she builds ash in the box under it. Wood ash is great to deter pests.

We have a little vacuum shop style great around the stove.
Took a great hot shower about 4 yesterday!

I never got started on building the outdoor run for the new chickens, because of my cold and the holiday. That's my excuse anyway.

The chicks will be 4 weeks old tomorrow and they're pretty much fully feathered, just a little bit of down showing between the feathers on top of their heads. And they're fluttering around so much they're kicking up dust in the house so I'm moving them.

I just about have a temporary home set up for them in the shop. It's cool out there but I'll give them a heat lamp to sleep under if they want.

The screws I ordered to build the new run just arrived so I don't have that excuse anymore either. LOL

Got the chicks moved into their portable brooder. It's in my little utility trailer. I sat an old rabbit cage that's missing the floor over the woodchips. Once they found the food they forgot all about the turmoil of moving.

The rabbit feed dispenser seems to work great for the crumble feed.

This is what they looked like 13 days ago...
