Hey neighbors in Washington! I just got chickens on the 31st of August and I LOVE them! When it FINALLY rained here that was the first since I had gotten them and they were miserable. So we put something on the run to stop the rain inside but of coarse it's still a little muddy in there. Is it ok if their feet are muddy? Thx in advanced!

I let my gals out in the afternoon to free-range. They don't mind the rain at all. When it comes down really hard they have areas to go to or they just go back into their home and wait the rain out. (just like us)

Now is the time to contact the Pumpkin Farms around you.
I now grow mine but before in years past I'd call and see if I could stop by after the 31st to glean some.

I know Remlinger plows them back under the very next day.
Better to call now then few days before as they get quite busy.

Pumpkins very good food for your chickens.
The smaller size will store longer for you.

If you use .......... pumpkin seeds anti parasitic .......... in a search engine you can read about the health benefits for you and your chickens.

I just wait until halloween and do my own little version of
See while everybody is busy with the little people and candy I take the farm truck

and make a shopping trip to the punkin patch. It's bargain night !!! Grab em n run !!

Just when you get things decorated the way you'd like and have that cozy "lived in" feeling, you get moved to a new home. Works for me. Now I don't need to clean up that old thread anymore. Brand new clean walls to draw all over!
