Are you supplementing your hens with vitamin D3? I was told once to try it especially living in the north. It seemed to help my hens return to laying. When I get my new flock I am seriously considering using Avian Charge 2000. Any thoughts on using this? ~Dee~

I'm not supplementing. I have no idea what to buy or how to dose, but I'm interested in supplementing lately because of the 2 pullets who stopped laying. I feel like there's something I'm missing and I want them to be healthy and laying, even if it's not all the time through the winter. Never heard of that Avian Charge 2000 though.

Sounds like y'all need to start having eggs for breakfast most days! We do! They keep us full since we can't have gluten filled breakfasts like many people do. John will easily eat 3 eggs, Jeanine and William eat 2.5 eggs each, and I also have 3 eggs! That's almost a dozen eggs a day if we eat them every morning! LOL

On a serious note. Yes I can be once in a while.
I got a message this morning from a friend. Requesting help. Seems something got in and destroyed their flock. Well I had to get the radiant floor pressure tested before they pour concrete on it Monday. Before I could get done my friend got the mess dealt with. I really felt bad about the loss and that I couldn't get up there to help. There area couple other things that make this loss hurt especially bad .

My garden produced more sugar pumpkins than I can use. If enough people are interested I would be glad to meet you in Enumclaw at the Safeway parking lot. I do not want to make more than one trip to town so would need enough interest so I can give them away to several people at the same time.
