Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

HA !!! I finally caught up.
Still a bit ill here, but getting better.
Have tons of work to do as soon as I get a bit more energy......have all flocks to Eprinex, and a batch of chicks and a flock of Jersey Giants to vaccinate...all done in the dark of night...which is thankfully coming earlier each night so I do not have to stay up til midnight in order to do all this stealthy stuff..............
I am planning on laying about & watching the hawks game today......hopefully they win again !!!!!!!

And I am tired of eating applesauce, chicken broth & cream of rice.................................

We have nine potential layers but only get about two to four eggs a day right now. My Belgians are molting right now; only one is laying. Three of my four young ones from this spring are laying. The fourth one has barely developed her comb and wattles. She's the same age as the others and was raised the same. Even though she's not showing signs of laying any time soon, I love her dearly and will continue to enjoy her presence. If your girls are not molting, maybe they're going to start soon and are just taking their time? They could just be shutting down for the season. Maybe an evil wizard is in the area.

haha hope not :)

I'm having issues with rats - they no longer will go in the zappers. Every week for the past month, the feral cat that I thought could not hunt has killed and brought a fat rat and left it on the doormat for us to see.

The cat does not eat them, only kills them, so maybe I will try poison. I had roof rats for a while. they are smarter and took 3 months before they ate the bait I put out for them. I don't see them around anymore, but now the ground rats are back, and this time not as stupid. They don't go near the zappers.

I've seen that episode. Gave me ideas for the next time I get a bad silkie rooster. The first bird I processed was a mean silkie. He made some interesting chicken noodle soup.

Not going to eat the boy I have now. He's to good. And he puts up with me snuggling his fluffy self. He only gets upset when I keep him from watching over his girls to long.
I wish i could have a rooster but i cant have one where i live. It sounds like you have a nice one :)
