Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Quote: I am not going to submerge them. I will actually make hangers so they hang in the bucket at a safe level. Some others have done this and it's worked, but they definitely didn't submerge them! Lol! I can only imagine what my chickens woud be saying about me, loudly!

If I can't make it work, then I will just bring them in every night or use my heated waterers.
If it is a newer fish tank heater, it is most likely 100% submersible~ For example, every heater at petsmart is submersible http://www.petsmart.com/family/inde...xonomy/PET/2769248&fbc=1&fbn=Taxonomy|Heaters

My heaters are all at the bottom of my tanks, hidden behind stuff.
I too only use submersible heaters in my tanks. I have a 125 gallon tank, and a 46 gallon. It's been years since I have used anything else, in a tank. DH and I have kept aquariums most of our lives.

Quote: If I can get some of my perennials dug up I will bring them with me to Chehalis. I know that I have some crocosmia to share, and I have calla lilies to share. There is more stuff that I should divide also. It's going to depend on how I am feeling, as to how much will get done.

I found the new Washington thread. I haven't posted in a couple of years, but I have been enjoying my chickens. My flock was down to 26 chickens due to some raccoons (my neighbor was proud of how many reccoons came to his outside cat dish to eat) and some just aging out. I just got 20 more chicks. They are about 5 weeks old so already feathered out. I was impressed by the bard rocks. Those little guys are so friendly. I am considering getting a few more of them. I think one is a roo because he has real attitude already. I have seen that before in my young roos. Has anyone else noticed that they get the rooster attitude before the physical traits appear?
I am so happy that you are back Vikki. Long time no see. I have missed you.

OK I would like to offer up a couple suggestions to some of the newer peeps. This is simply intended to make it easier for us to help.

First when replying to a specific post. It is easier for all to follow if you use the "quote" button located in the lower right. This way others know what post you are referring to

Then type your message outside the blue quoted area.

And many times people ask for help or somebody "local" with what ever. Since the members of this thread are from all over WA and a few other states it makes it much easier if you will share the general area you are in. And it can be very general but still make a big difference. Like Tacoma or Spokane or Outlook or Ethel.
