*Sigh* Just realized DH forgot to bring in firewood before he went to work for 24 hours. 48 would be worse, but still...I know I need to toughen up and get out there myself but I'd rather flip on the heater if it wasn't for a absolutely toasty and lovely living room. Guess I'm getting out there after lunch to bring in a day's worth of firewood.

I set up to short pails with a 2 x 12 plank on top for the girls to get up out of the water, but I think they just consider it an obstacle that "The Crazy Lady" stuck in their way! Dumb birds!

Good thing DH was willing to dig a trench in this downpour or they might float away!

OMG, just got home from taking my son to work. Taking Key Pen backroads we came upon a sign that said 'water over roadway' placed about 10 ft from the actual water (hello people who put the sign there). Well, wasn't going to slam on my breaks and we have a big truck so we went for it. Blamo! That was soooo much fun that on the way back, even though I had been warned, I didn't slow down. Bwhahahaha! What the heck, you only live once. OK, CR, I'm sure you will give a lecture and burst my bubble but IT WAS FUN!

That's sooo something we would've done too!! Fun times!

I was six when carrying firewood to the wood box got to be one of my chores, and there were people in the family who took that as more evidence of just how terribly spoiled I was, since for my parents, that was a preschool-level job.
