Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I removed the spurs on a rooster today. it was suprisingly easy and no blood really and the rooster didn't even squirm. I though it was going to be hard and/or icky but it wasn't! Watched a youtube vidoe and went out and did it. One skill down, about 100 more to go!

It's amazing what you can find on youtube! May have to do AI on some of my silkies and possibly my Favs, if trimming butt fluff doesn't help! You can find how to vids on that! Unbelievable!

Ugh...I was looking at 2 of my Cuckoo Marans yesterday and I still have to get out there & trim spurs......

Vole. Come to my place this summer if you want to catch a few.
This critter is 4-5X the size of our voles, and it has a long tail, rat length, only flatish, not a round tail.
I catch voles almost every day out here, and this ain't one of them.
It maybe a different variety of vole ?
But with the long tail...just does not even look voley...far too big !

We are also voting vole.

Aha...so it is a different variety from the "meadow mice" we have here...interesting !!
Thanks guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does look alittle beavery, doesn't it ??
I told DH about how it might be a "Mountain Beaver" and he scoffed, and said:
I know of 2 kinds of beaver, and that ain't either one of them !

The little white silkie is still going! There are 4 poops in the box, although the last two are kind of runny. I laid down extra paper towels until I can get them all changed out. It'll keep her from walking through them. She isn't eating a ton, but she is eating and drinking. I'm crossing my fingers she'll be doing even better in the morning.

And I'm not opening any snake cages tonight, lol.
