Thank you for the reply. If she continues to have trouble standing, I'll take her to the vet for euthanasia.

I'm no expert - but that smells like mites.
How long in between wormings do I wait? I've read 7 days and 10 days. I'm at 9. Should I finish the job tonight or can it wait until tomorrow?
Jess - either![]()
Ugh...I was looking at 2 of my Cuckoo Marans yesterday and I still have to get out there & trim spurs......I removed the spurs on a rooster today. it was suprisingly easy and no blood really and the rooster didn't even squirm. I though it was going to be hard and/or icky but it wasn't! Watched a youtube vidoe and went out and did it. One skill down, about 100 more to go!![]()
It's amazing what you can find on youtube! May have to do AI on some of my silkies and possibly my Favs, if trimming butt fluff doesn't help! You can find how to vids on that! Unbelievable!![]()

I still cannot figure out what it is...but I did set it free.............I wish I had looked more closely at it, to see if it had rodent or carnivore-type teeth.....it is a cute critter though !No clue but it sure is cute! Looks like a mutant hamster and vole cross.
Made Ya Laugh!!!!![]()
This critter is 4-5X the size of our voles, and it has a long tail, rat length, only flatish, not a round tail.Vole. Come to my place this summer if you want to catch a few.
Aha...so it is a different variety from the "meadow mice" we have here...interesting !!We are also voting vole.

Just to note: Mountain Beavers (Aplodontia rufa) are much bigger than the size CL described, and have tails so short that they disappear in their fur. They are also really...un-cute. Anti-cute, even.
Chickielady I think your ? is an "other worldly" creature from another planet, probably on a scouting mission. Whatever you do, don't let it "phone home"!
The little white silkie is still going! There are 4 poops in the box, although the last two are kind of runny. I laid down extra paper towels until I can get them all changed out. It'll keep her from walking through them. She isn't eating a ton, but she is eating and drinking. I'm crossing my fingers she'll be doing even better in the morning.
And I'm not opening any snake cages tonight, lol.
