The only thing new that she ate was walmarts off brand cheese puffs that my step dad bought her... She ate 4 or 5 puffs, then about an hour later is when she got the hives... Needless to say, the cheese puffs are no longer hers. I washed ALL of her new clothing, everything all the way down to her socks. I'm tempted to take the cover and pads off her new carseat to wash them as well.
I'm leaning more torward the puffs, but I am still not sure as she still has some hives. But then again, I have no idea how long they will take to clear up.
Its been a stressfull 24 hours, and now we are just trying to keep her comfortable.
Read the ingredients...it may not be the Cheese Puffs that are the offender, but an ingredient, which may be in alot of other foods...my point.
I am allergic to wheat, I have celiac disease.
My immunal system attacks my intestines to "kill" the wheat gluten, to put it simply...I have a heard time breathing, and it takes weeks for my body to heal from the attacks.
Usually the food is ingested 3 days before the first symptoms appear...so, she could have eaten something 3 days ago.
It is really hard to diagnose allergies, keep a record on paper of every thing she eats or drinks.
But it could very well be an ingredient in the cheese puffs.
Hope she is OK !!!
Thanks, I will keep keeping track of what she eats, and take it in to the Dr. when she has her appointment... For now I will let her sleep, and keep checking on her. She has one more dose of Benadryl tonight, and then I will rest a litle easier.
