WHY do all our storms have to hit us at night time?!
barnie.gif

The winds are getting so bad that the "tent" I just made for the Yak and chickens a couple days ago is already torn now, and so now I've got a HUGE heavy tarp blowing around, anchored by only three more posts who it is likely also to tear free from.

. . . . We bought that tarp because it was supposedly heavy duty and built to withstand outdoor uses like roofing.

And I can't do anything about it until morning. . . So in the mean time, that tarp is going to flap and clap in the wind, scaring the animals in the barn next to it, until, but hopefully not, it blows free and rumbles through the pasture.

Those are BEAUTIOUS Wyandottes!!!! I've really fallen in love with our BLRW's. Our HUGE Roo Wyatt is so calm and gentle. And such a good care taker of his ladies. And they are just eye candy too! I have 3 hatched now, and two more of them pipping! One more of our own and one from another breeder, not the foley ones. This breeder didn't know what line his came from but his pic's were gorgeous. I hope the storm stays far far away from us tonight. I need a good nights sleep!!!!

The Buff Laced aren't hard to make, honestly. And, for some reason I just find that color to not look to great on Wyandottes.

The chocolates are nice though, however the hen there isn't the best I've seen. Something about the sheen or richness of her color. (By that I mean she lacks both) And, aren't those Orpingtons? They look like Orpingtons, not Wyandottes.

These are a great example of Chocolate Wyandottes.

OK well ya ask for it so here is the story of how Chicken Rustler got the name. A little advice make sure to announce on here when you are going to be gone and when you expect to return. It helps to avoid confrontation.

My wife decided she wanted chickens so we didn't have to rely on the neighbors hens that are supplying 4 familys. Long story short we bought 14 chicks 3BSL, 3GSL, 6RIR and I just had to have 2 Easter eggers. But the wife wanted eggs sooner than August. So I made a little late night trip to the neighbors coop and wrangled 2BR, and 1GSL hens ( they don't hang chicken wranglers do they?)
Sunday 3/15 wife got two eggs and again today 3/17 2 more out of 3 hens. We have had the Ladies almost 2 weeks and I was starting to think that stolen chickens don't lay or we have an egg thief in the hood. One thing I can't stand is a thief !!!
Wife is so excited about this. She is a stroke victim and little things mean so much to her.

Yes, blue birds, especially males, look terrible in the wet.

Dirty !
I have dirty birds !
This has to be the clay mud capital of the world.
And the 2 roos are on top of the situation...we actually make fun of the "Splash Maran" name after so many are muddy after a good day of mating.
Such happens, with white hens, white dogs, and white carpeting

This why I no longer have carpeting in my house. Yorkies are why I don't have rugs either. Someday it will just DH and me, I will miss the days I didn't have white carpet. It will be so glorious to be able to lay down on that white carpet, and not get molested by a murder of puppies. If you get the right kind if white dog they are self cleaning.
