My personal feeling: I wish that the mustangs could be "controlled" in a fashion that allowed them to remain on the open fields. Why not neuter mares or geld stallions. They are part of our history. I realize they are not indigenous....but there are a lot of specious that are not indigenous to the US, and I do not believe that they are concerned with the "natural animals for feed" the ranchers want the feed for their cows and sheep. That being said. I live in Ranch country. I used to work at a restaurant that feed cattlemen. I was raised on a farm and had cattle, pigs, chickens, sheep, horses, etc. I know what they need. I just think the mustangs represent a very historical part of us and should be protected and managed someway. I hate the fact how they are just irradicating them.

Anyone in Washington building or have chicken coops for sale? I am located in Tacoma and am looking for a safe, roomy, practical coop for my flock of 7 girls. I'm looking for something under $600.. In addition I'm looking for a run for them as well as it's not safe for them to free range (we tried that until I watch an eagle swoop down on them - they've been in lock down since!) I've checked craigslist and do not see much.. Anyone? I'm not sure if this is the right place here, if there's a better place plese let me know.

I have also been watching Craigslist for a few months now as I am wanting a coop for 4-6 chickens. Not thrilled with anything I've seen as it's either too small, I question the quality and durability of the wood being used or it's cost prohibitive. I have seen a couple that came close to what I want but for some reason or another just weren't the right "fit". I've just ordered a couple of more books about building coops and will probably just hire a friend (with building experience) to build my dream coop in the spring. I don't mind paying a bit more if it fulfills everything on my coop wish list. Once it's in place, then we'll find the right girls to move in. I have seen a couple of used coops on Craigslist that were for sale, but most were questionable.

What specifically are you looking for in a coop? I'll keep my eyes open.

Have you looked on the Portland CL? I have been looking for two years now on both Seattle & Spokane CL for someone to build me 4 to 6 bantam coops. These would be used during the breeding season and during the colder momths, the bantams would be in main (heated/insulated) coop.

I have cash and blueprints.

People either back out at the last minute (one guy AFTER I'd sent a deposit) disappeared and I've had others promise, promise, promise and not return my emails or phone calls....so I'm not sure...if you find someone who does a good job at a reasonable price, please let me know.

If you keep watching they are out there. I got this off CL for free. It is 6'x8' and perfect for my banties. I was able to winch it onto one of my trailers and haul it home.

and here it is after some free paint. Since this pic DW has had me add several other decorations including a solar porch light.

Too bad the brains were gone !
It had to be a chicken farmer that stole the brains, the seeds are an awesome natural vermifuge, and the birds love them !

You know what I would do ?
I would load them up in a trailer, and drive to her house, and unload them, and tie them off to a freaking tree in her front lawn if need be, and then leave.
B***H!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I agree. But I don't think Seattle metro police would like that too much. She's staying in an apartment in Seattle somewhere...

The thought had crossed my mind though.
