Remember that hatch just a few weeks ago that I only got 3 W/BW Ameraucanas out of??

Well, guess what. . . I've got a Blue Wheaten cockerel out of that hatch.

. . . . But he doesn't have a tail.

Apparently not, but it was a Marans Club show...and the Cuckoos won.

I do not follow the marans thread enough to know exactly what is going on there...but the show must have just been for the Marans club as you can see the Marans Club banners...even still, a non-french and (to me) a Cockeral leaving alot to be desired won, with white tail feathers even !
Mine have no such white and are spectacular !
OK, so Wynette has answered me in that the Marans as a whole has not been accepted to the APA, but the Black Copper should be by February she said, closely followed by the Wheaten and then the Cuckoo...the blues are still off a ways.

I have stocked up on lettuce seed, but the slugs are out in force, and I have taken the plastic off the green house for the season..it gets windy here on the coast.

There is an old dimensionally framed cabin across the street in the marsh, that is blown over on it's roof...bottom sills up!
It blew a big 100 foot+ spruce on top of the mobile that was here...no one was hurt but the mobile home was totalled and burned.
I am glad we took down the other big tree !

I never have figured it out only that it must have been a bad genetics thing, and have never had it happen since, knock on wood !

Yep, I'm waiting for my house to get battered by the wind. It gets nasty living at the opening to an estuary... The wind gets funnled down the bay, and right up through my neighbors property... And these darn Hawthorn hybred trees are so brittle in the wind. Freaks me out, had to move the horse trailor, and have everyone move their vehicles out from underneath them... And yes it is warm... Very warm, and I can feel elecrtricity in the air around here also... You know how when an electrical storms coming and the air is getting charged, and the hairs on your arms start standing up for no reason...

lol This makes me glad that I was taught the old ways about predicting weather. Its common sence, and observation...

Ok I think I'm gonna purchase a Brinsea as a gift to myself for my birthday. And will deal with DH after. I'm tired of waiting for him to be ready to get me one. lol Yep thats right, I'm impatient, and dont want to wait another 5 years to get one...
