I am trying to ween myself off of the games, Bejeweled and zuma are the only ones I play but that sometime take to much time, for you I will see what I can do about my Bejeweled score.

Me too. I play only Bejeweled and Chicktionary (Bing version, not FB), though I did play Zuma the other day to get the Bejeweled coins. I hit level 30 today .... definately played too much! My sister is level 54, so I always have to beat my little sis just to rub it in. What's nice is it is a quick game and I can play a few rounds while waiting to switch wash loads and such.

we have 2 hives--one which actually swarmed early last spring--oopsie--maybe that's the one you rescued? lol! We restocked it and the hive has now been fine. we keep a better eye on them..

we haven't extracted any honey -- right now they seem to be producing enough only to live on each winter. They are really new hives, and still establishing. We sorta set ourselves back by letting the first one swarm. That one had been our oldest hive--at a year old then--We have a friend (who is 97 years old!!) that keeps bees and he has been teaching my husband how to take care of them, he has the extraction equipment when it comes time. We would probably eventually try picking some up somewhere for ourselves, if we ever get more serious about actually getting honey from the hives I think. I have been toying with the idea of taking some classes actually, there are a couple courses offered thru the local bee associations etc. Seems interesting, and I WOULD like to learn more.

here are some supply houses... if you haven't already seen them? I love looking thru the catalogs, they seem expensive though.

and locally, we have gotten things--as in our colony, and our new queen from when the hive swarmed-- from these guys, and they are very very nice.
I can't recommend them enough.

Jen Yes I am very familiar with both of those suppliers. I get my stuff from a small local company that has nearly everything you could need and if not they will get it for you. And thier prices are very good. They are Sherwood apiary. I take my frames to thier place to extract. They let me use their extractor in exchange for my cappings. I bought my first package from them this spring. That package gave me 20# of honey (about 1 1/2 gal.) in this first year.
I would encourage you to join a local club if there is one in your area. I am a member of Lewis County Beekeepers Association (LCBA). We have some very good guest speakers come in and I would think that your local club would too. Plus you can connect with others with more experience that may be able to help ya along.
