So the other day I was at the Mall with my niece and daughter and we stopped in at Fuego, the kind of funky gift shop with lots of things that appeal mostly to a younger crowd. The calendars were 75% off and I found one with reproductions of some of my favorite black light posters from the 70's so of course I had to get it with the intention that I might actually locate my black light somewhere and relive my teen years in a pseudo hippie den. The BIG bonus was for my daughter who caught sight of "Extraordinary Chickens" that had been featured on the Conan O'Brien show. She thought it would be an interesting addition to her dorm room at WSU where she will be returning tomorrow. Some pretty stylish chickens posing for sure! Oh, and the calendar was only $3.50 after the discount. Surprisingly, there were still several left.
Here's the clip of Conan, displaying the chicken calendar.
think i am going to have my parents take him to the vet monday after i leave and have them put him down.
he is getting worse now. wont walk any. his good leg has a swollen foot.
turns out he is a picky eater, had him on chick feed but would eat only some of it.
because i see his days are numbered i put him back on layer food, which he ate fast and i give him scratch (which he vaccums), and water
despite all i have done his poo went back to being bright green and very runny again. yesterday it seemed he was getting better. he has an interest in food and water, but can't walk
i think his balance is off too because when i lift him up he won't put any weight on any leg and he tries to support himself with his wingtips.
so i think the best and most dignified way is for him to be put to sleep.
maybe if i am lucky the vet can run a necropsy.
I have no idea why he has been wasting away over the past few weeks. Lice can't cause this sever enough otherwise the others would be bad too. its not parasites (internally)
I have no clue what diseases or internal organ failure this could be.
I have tried and now i just keep him comfortable and fed.
Anybody ever heard of or seen a "Black" egg? My daughter is getting eggs that look like a gray egg that has been rolled around in black soot. Weird. When she wipes them off the bloom comes off as black soot. She is getting about one a day so it wasn't a one day anomaly. Could it be a duck? Charging my camera so I can get a picture of it.

I agree washing a cat is about like eating a frog first thing. It can only get better. You can tell Flumpers that the nasty little dogs got a bath too.
