Okay, I cannot finish all the posts, I have to get ready for work. 2 of my doggies are going in for dental work.
I "discovered" a great treat-tray for my ladies.....The bottom part of costco pie containers. Not the metal part, the plastic container. It is fairly heavy plastic, deep enough, wide across. Works good.
Lots of snow here.

I will try to catch up tonight....don't post much while I'm gone or I will never catch up.
One of my new puppies gets furious when we give the hens goodies. She stands outside the run and parks - crazily. She doesn't think they should get the goodies. It is hilarious to watch.

Hi JB,

Thanks for the pic and no, you didn't get the names spelled right but pretty close. They are Lakota names, not Spanish, just so ya know.
I hope that you enjoy the food and that T HI and DH get back safe and sound and T Hi's dad recovers well.

Well, 90% of all the snow is gone and melted. . .

And it is official. The greenhouse is toast.

The "spine" of it is fine, but the pipes hooked to it on the south side, most of them are snapped. So it looks like I'm just going to have to replace the whole thing, because they didn't just pop out of the socket, they broke, with part of the PVC still glued in the sockets.

But, beyond that news, at least it is now warm enough out there for me to continue working on the future crops and other greenhouses.

You can make your own Starter by putting 1 large can of Fruit Cocktail and 3 cups of sugar in a 1 gallon jar, stir well, let it set on your counter for 1 week. If you want, add 1/4 cup of any brandy. Use a dishtowel with a rubber band to keep out flying critters. Yarn or some kind of string will also work. Don't put a lid on it. You don't need the brandy. Sugar & fruit setting on the counter for 21 days, this will walk!!!

1st Day 1 1/2 c. starter
1-2 1/2 size can peaches (syrup & all)
2 1/2 c. sugar

7th Day Add to Above
2 1/2 c. sugar
1-2 1/2 size can pineapple ( chunk or crushed or tidbits)

Let stand 7days stir daily

14th Day Add to above
2 1/2 sugar
1- 2 1/2 size can fruit cocktail
1 8 oz jar marichino cherries

21st Day Drain Fruit divide into 4 parts
[save liquid to give your friends 1 1/2 c. a piece to use as a starter for their own cakes]
to each part of drained fruit add
1 Cake mix of your choice
1 box vanilla instant pudding
4 eggs 1 tsp vanilla
2/3 c. shortening
1 c. nuts (optional) Stir & Bake

350% for 1hour in tube or bunt pan

You can ice it or make a glaze and drizzle it over the cake.

I found this on a Google search. I haven't tried this version of friendship bread starter.

This is the recipe I have. Just trying to find out if jbear starter is the right one.

They claim to be Christians. They mainly were hate anti gay pickets which made no sense when he would hang out in front of a gentlemen club on race weekend. Know I feel its just for attention. On his compound the fly the American and Canada Flag upside down.

True Christians who are followers of Christ and model their lives in His image do not picket innocent victims funerals. Those Phelps people are sickos!

It has never been a problem, I keep my hand far away, and DH puts the gun barrel IN the back of the head...I was butchering turkeys one time years ago, and had a small loop tied around the victim's upper neck, stretching his neck across the choppong block and DD holding the rope, I came down with the ax and she squinted and let go at the same time, and the bird backed up just in time to get half it's head cut off at an angle, so it had 1 eye, etc...and it just stood there looking at us,Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww it was awful!
The bird just walked away and began feeding...no blood...half it's brains showing...we had to do it all over again.

It seems to me,that when I was a kid (100 years ago), we had a stump with 2 nails in it. The nails where not pounded in all the way and they were close together. Stick the neck between the nails, head on one side, body on the other. This may not be accurate....but I know we did something like this, but like I said it feels like 100 years ago.

We did the same thing only we attached a wire from nail to nail to hold the head down then chopped it with an axe.

Illia, I'm so sorry. I hate when there is so much work to do and you have this big list it's a good feeling to finally finish something. So what a disappointment to have all that wasted and have to start over. My first greenhouse was 20 ft schedule 40 1/2 inch plastic pipe hoops. The greenhouse ended up being 13 ft wide with the 20' arched. Each winter during snow storms I had to sleep on the couch so I could wake easily to go out and sweep snow off the greenhouse every few hours. If I didn't the snow would collapse the pipe. Really sucked. Finally bought a Conley Coldframe with aluminum arches. We bought it a McConkeys in Sumner. Actually had it for 10 years before finally putting it up. It was kind of beat up because DH spent 10 years moving it around with the tractor to get it out of the way of different projects. It was a happy day when we finally got it up and it's wonderful. Checked it last night and the plastic was fine and of course the metal arches didn't have any problem. The original pipe greenhouse was very inexpensive and worked very well for many years, just not in the snow but even when I waited too long to remove the snow and it was sagging the pipe would just pop back up when the weight was removed. A few times we put braces on the inside to help hold them up. Oh, and if you don't have a way to haul 20' pipe you can get the 10 ' and couple them together. I can probably find the plans if you are interested. Hope the weather cooperates so you can get out to work on another.
