Well I feel bad that my 5 kitties are outside, but they hate nasty little dogs. and the puppies are way to little to keep outside. I do know that my kitties have some very nice spots to get out of the wind, rain and cold.

These 2 glutens came to live at my house last Thursday. The little boy aka Spot, I think will be smaller than Teddie. As in maybe only 3 to 4lbs when full grown. His sister Sparkle aka Sparky is nearly twice his size. Yet she should only be about 6lbs full grown.

Do you feel guilty about the cat being outside?
I'm have guilty feelings with my 3 outside cats, 2 ferals and 1 incontinent stray. I feel so sorry for them being outside. I know 2 of them are old. I was debating cat door and electric blanket in the garden shed. Thought better of it, but...

No - Flumpers is back inside. I don't know why, but she won't drink out of her cat bowl if there is snow. She insists on licking snow off of the patio furniture. I do have one cat that is outside 24/7. That cat (Copy Caot, or It) I adopted as a feral, but it rarely hangs out with the rest of the feral colony. There is a guy in Bellingham who makes wonderful little cat bungalows that you can throw a heating pad into (he sells them cheaper than PetSmart). The Bungalow has windows on 3 sides, and Copy immediately took to it. She/he is in there almost all the time, but when it gets really cold and windy, It either goes to the heated garden shed (450W flat panel radiant heater - I only put it on for the animals when I know it is going to be below 38 or so at night), or hangs out with the rest of the feral colony under a pile of boulders half burried by my compost heap. I almost never see the cats, but I find their footprints in the snow. The location must be warm though, because when the temperatures drop into the 20's or lower, It abandons the heated house for the feral colony while Flumpers prefers the heated cat house to the people house! I bought a second cat bungalow for when she insists on staying out. It is in a very sheltered area that I can see from my bedroom, on the opposite side of the house from Copy.

Wow, just looked out the window ... the snow is getting deep, but the flakes remain so small they can hardly be seen falling.

It was so windy here earlier that the hummingbird feeder nearly emptied it's self. Larry the hummingbird is not going to be very happy in the morning. Larry the hummingbird still scares me a lot. Hummingbirds will try to kill you when you least expect it.

I must say that I didn't go out in the wind and cold tonight. DD came by earlier in the day I took her to lunch, and that was more than enough for me. It seems like the wind has died down now. We got just a light cover of white stuff. It started as ice pellets.

Same elevation as me ... 990.

I had good friends likely near you in a log home off a gravel road off Rimrock. They moved to Montana and I lost track of them. Miss them.
