CL: What is the status on duckles? I showed my DH the photos of your DH and your duckle....I think they are way too cute.

As for the time right now, NO pips whatsoever in the duckie eggs...........strange indeed, extremely strange what with the 1 duckle exploding out of the egg at day 19.....

Since most of you would know, I have a funny / cartoon type video of a chicken and a fox in combat .. (the chicken wins) and had thought to post it, but, not sure if the board would want something like that linked. Thoughts ? I could post it here in our washingtonian thread or I could just not post it at all .. discuss ..

you need something to cut the tote lid... I use a dremel and drill holes around the edge of the opening.
some wire or screen to fit the opened area
if wire use wire cutters
I use electric tape for the edge to cover any sharp corners. but duct tape works too
and zip ties to hold the wire down to the top
Its very simple but takes a little time to cut the lid.

hope this helps.. maybe I'll take photos of my unfinished one as I put it togetther but its already cut/drilled

You can use a very fine tooth hack/jig saw blade and a soldering iron to melt some holes.

Alrightie.

Came back today with a big handful of roosters, including a SILKIE, and culled 'em all. Well, Silkies do indeed have dark meat, and Silkie crosses have GREEN colored meat, fat, and organs!! It was awesome!!

After that, I put my eggs in lockdown. . . Aaah life and death. I can't wait to see the "life" part happen in a few days!!
