I'd turn it into a quail palace!

Lol! Well, only one will fit into the truck bed so no can do (& we'll be too busy to be able to make 2 trips). Poor P3 DH will be getting up about 3hr earlier than his normal Sunday time to be able to make the trip.

I am eternally in his debt.....and yours, too.

Avian genetics seem to work rather differently than mammalian genetics.

Shamo x Cornish will just make an Asil looking bird.

Also, it doesn't take that long to show true color, and it certainly doesn't take that long in a cross, considering Marans only take 6-8 months.

And, I don't think it makes any difference in cock vs hen on who's who with the breeds. I've had it both ways when outcrossing Marans before and both ways had the same egg color variation (which, I'm not breeding for anyway) and both had the same body type variation.

Illia: I want you to know how amazing it is to read the information you put on here. I know this much about chickens: There are boys and there are girls. Girls lay eggs. Boys crow. That's it.

I am still - so learning. You are a wizard and a wealth of information and I love to read/hear you and CL chatter back and forth about this and that. I find it amazingly interesting. Keep up the good posts - love 'em.

ahh ok... care to help me out with a wee little box? I'd love to try out a little bee thing.

Well sorry but I only have a couple of boxes and dwill be needing all of them to do splits this summer. And I don't have any frames even for me. I don't want to discourage anybody but the cost adds up pretty fast. See for one "hive" you need 2 deep boxes, 20 frames with foundation, a bottom board, a top, an inner cover and a feeder. This will set ya back about $80 and then ya need bees. And if ya want honey then you need honey supers and frames with foundation. And then a basic suit is $50+ and tools and smoker and gloves.

i ment where to get one..

I can give you a ride again.

Good sleepy morning everyone! Got spotty sky's overhead, dogs are snoozing, chickens scratching in the yard, and horses tearing up their field. lol Dropped my DH at work around 6:45, and now I sit here wih a rockstar in my hand, and my little sweet monster of a daughter on my lap.

Now the water or Diet Pepsi would work.

I am just to lazy to make my own coffee. I even tried instant coffee, and even that was to much to remember first thing in the morning.

And this is why they make them new fangled coffee makers with a timer so ya can make it the night before and it will be ready when ya get up in the am.

Or even the old fangled ones that you set up the night before and just press the start button in the morning.
