I like to mash the parsnips like mashed potatoes.

MMMMMYES!Parsnips like smasht taters! Love em.

I love avocados too! Avocados from the misappellation of abogado or lawyer from the Nahuatl word (aztec) awakate which resembled the italian word for lawyer avocate.

Strange how many english words come from Indian languages. Hurricane, hammock, chocolate, canoe, barbecue, cannibal and coyote.

Regarding Parsnips, we love to do a Veggie Mash which includes mostly butternut squash, parsnips, purple turnips, carrots and onions. Chop it all up and boil the heck out of it. I add butter and a bit of thyme and mash it all up. It's my FAVORITE holiday side dish!!!!

Ogress, you must get the same CSA box we get. I have the same unused fruits/veggies left as you do!!!

I like parsnips cooked with corned beef, well all root veggies. The sweet spicy parsnip is good with the salty, fatty corned beef.

My friend got back to me about closing windows without needing to click on anything. He said Alt F4.

Nothing going on here today...but I thought of something I have wanted to do for a long time::::::: BONSAI !!!
I have several bonsai type containers, and have alot of spruce, vine maple, alder and several other trees here and lots of babies...so I may trek out in the rain and get a few and snip the tap roots and get them going.
I did a curly willow a few years ago, and it grew out of control anyway.
It grew so fast it enveloped part of the aluminum wire wrapped around it to hold it in place.
So now it has a spiraled trunk....
I need to do a little more research on exactly where and how to trim the tap roots so they are stunted...the curly willow did not stunt..but I remember it had roots like an upside down bush, no definite tap root like a fir tree has....anyone do bonsai ?

IMP GREAT avatar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
