I better go get some work done since I was gone yesterday and got nothing done...

The only trick to filtering by state is that you have to pick a country first. For a couple minutes I just got ALL under the state filter.

And CL you are not stoooopid old chickielady

Welcome to the new Washingtonians

Chicky, On the Sporstman, I keep the white tray filled that came with it and it keeps it 52%+ humidity. I thought I'd try it at that first to see how the first hatch went since I had been doing 35% in my Styrofoams. Thought I could switch to a water container with a smaller surface area if needed but the hatch went great and every hatch after that so I just keep it at the 52%. HOWEVER, there are times I don't check as often as I should and the humidity tray is dried up with humidity at around 25% so it's possible the AVERAGE humidity for the whole 18 days is around 40% sometimes. Just depends on how often I forget. Still have had no problem with hatches.

Hail to all hatch YODAS

Anyone know if I should give my dirty duck eggs a good scrub down with bleach & water before I put it in my incubator??
The new Holderread duck has not found the nest box and is just laying anywhere she pleases.

I'll go to the door and she'll be in her PJs. Perhaps I should be fashionably late.

She can't wait! She's already claimed a coop for them! I like how they just stuck around nearby the coops even though they had the whole yard to roam. As soon as I open the pen doors, my girls are all over the place! (My NH is a big hen, but the rest are not much larger than your banties.) The EE's and RIR tend to follow me wherever I go in the yard, but the others are off looking for the best piles of leaves and duff to dig through. If I get out a shovel and start digging in the garden though, they are all right there.

My computer problems have been solved in a VERY GOOD WAY !!!! I have just been on the run alot lately. And now I have to figure out the best time to smuggle the stolen compter that I had been using back to its proper home

Ogress why did you put a wire seperator in the brooder ?
The babies look like they can all be together..the bigger ones do not look big enough to peck on the little'uns.
It would be easier for you if you had just 1 water and 1 feeder

Just askin'............beautiful babies and beautiful harp and adorable DD...

The babies range in age from 1 day to 3 weeks. I was planning on pulling the separator out after a week when the new babies are a little stronger. I'll remove one of the waterers then and maybe a feeder too to give them a bit more room. They are all very active this morning, and singing away. It sounds like a pet store in here! They are in the basement right by the front door and the staricase, so you can hear them througout the house. One of the lavender chicks is much bigger than all the rest. I thought she was going to be a problem, but her smaller cellmates will all stand on her and peck at her back if it is full of shavings.

Never !
Let it dry and then litely sand off or I use a DRY green scrubby sponge to take off alot of poop, but water washes off the bloom that protects the egg from germs.
Thanks IMP and thanks Cheryl and thanks CCG for the tips, I will try to do the full pan, I have been using a car wash sponge in there, damp..so clicking the water hose pincher on & off again...

A full pan I would figure would be too much given our humidity here in the "Swamp"

Good to see CR up and running!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now off to work...
