I am SOOOO EGGSCITED !!!!! DW let me gather the eggs today (she usually does that). So I just couldn't resist showing what our Barn Yard Desinger (how dare ya call em mutts) chickens gave us !!! The 4 on the bottom are from the bantam coop. I think the one lower left is from my Sicilian Buttercup Bantam she has just started laying again after a long break. And NO none of those are NASTY WHITE just very light on the color.

Hey y'all.
were pretty new at having chickens and byc.we are from Valleyford Wa. anybody close by? we have 6 r.i.rs. and 2 white silkies. 8 eggs in a homemade bator due this weekend. hope all goes well with the hatch-our first time! cant wait for the hatch!!!!!!!!! we started out wanting maybe 10-12 chickens!! I am hooked and if get my way will have many more! sounds like from I read, other people have the same problem!?! we live on 20 acres and I think getting chickens is just the start of more animals to follow. such as goats and pigs and??!

well?

Oh they are heavenly! imagine taking a tomato, combining it with a nectarine, and then add a pumpkiny finish. It's hard to explain the taste but it is my favorite fruit. They tend to do pretty well in western washington, at least the Fuji dwarf persimmon. The only problem is the window of time you have to eat them all. (not really a problem) when they're ripe you have about 2 weeks tops and they tend to ripen all at once. about 5 years of fruiting one tree will give you more than you can handle of course there is always persimmon jam!

That sounds interesting and good. Is this something I could grow in a large container? Like on the deck?

I would love some raspberry bareroot starts! And the hazlenuts? They will actually grow up here? Its not to cool and wet for them? Well sheesh! If thats the case I'da take some of those too! lol But I do have the perfect spot for raspberries. Or at least I think its the perfect spot.

OK so color me S T U PID but what breed is he. Looks similar to my Buff Bramha Bantam. but of course he is not Bantam right ???
We are getting CL's wind and moonshine. It was so bad here a few ago that I could barely see the horses across the road about 300'. Michell is headed out to bring horses in I told her I would help but can't go out in that kind of rain. If my candy a** gets wet my leggs will fall off!!!
