Well once again it is apparent that I am clearly self entertaining. I also need to thank Dana for the door. I only hit my head twice on the door while on my way home.

I think that it explains some of the self entertainment that goes on at my house. I am still sulking a bit that the door is a bit too wide for the bathroom.

I am determined that I will find a place for the door. It was wonderful to meet Dana in person yesterday afternoon.

Okay I am going to get all of the nasty little dogs and one very large/extra small dog off to bed. This way the kitties can sneak in to the house and keep warm. I still need to read until i can make sure that my eyes will close and stay that way. I should have taken the Ambien. At least I know that I am not addicted to the stuff. So off to bed for me. Cause I have done my best to keep us on top.

Add me to the list- Cindy/cmsdvm

Jen and I think it might be fun to all get together for dinner somewhere Friday night. Coop out should be 4ish Sat and I think we will all want to head for home. There is an alert out by the State Vet about LT (laryngotracheitis virus) being found in backyard chickens in the state after nearby commercial chickens were vaccinated. Exhibitors are reminded that chickens MAY NOT BE SHOWN?SOLD OR ON SHOWGROUNDS within 60 days of any vaccination. The only exception might be chicks which were vaccinated for Marek's and kept separate from all adult fowl. Birds which attend the show should be strictly quarantined afterwards to avoid bringing viruses home to your flock. This is always true, but a reminder may be in order.
About LT vaccination, the vaccine carried by First State (LT_IVAX I) is not supposed to create the carrier state. You should be able to vaccinate your birds then, after waiting 30 days (60 is safer,) these birds will not pass on the disease to other chickens. All of the other LT vaccines sold by commercial catalogs (such as the one by Murray McMurray) will cause your birds to become carriers. They are then safe from this disease, but should never be sold or exhibited due to the risk of passing the live virus to susceptible birds. These vaccines are very effective and ideal for commercial operations, where hens only leave as soup, anyway.

I farm and have a landscape business and bring in my share of the income and my DH keeps telling me to get a 'real' job like applying for a bus driver job because he wants me to work for the benefits instead of him. There are always opening and it's obvious why. I just tell him I will never be a school bus driver because I will end up in jail for child abuse or murder. I would hate hate hate my job. High School kids these days are the worst ever. Home School your kids!! Public school sucks. I wish I could have home schooled but I had to work.

There is no show in Monrow this weekend, there is just Chickielady driving up from Raymond to visit her son & grandson...and when I do, I will stop and see Zgoatlady, and then stop and see WA4-HPoultryMom, then around Snohomish and down south on I-5 and maybe stopping at Rainwolf's on the way home.
