It dawned on me that I should have asked a real question to get an answer...but yes...I guess what I was asking is from you with experience with these different disorders...do any of these symptoms sound familiar.

I will do some asking around for a doctor that might be open minded and actually listen to my questions and not blow me off as some hyper mom. She does not have diarrrhea...infact more often is constipated....I tell her she needs to eat more veggies and fruit. But, maybe it is more than that. Thank you.

The more fiber, usually the more irritated the system will become.
Study sites on : Celiac Disease, Ulcerative Colitis and Chrones Disease, for starters.
And stock up, shop, and when ready, do away with all cow dairy and wheat.
That's my recommendation.
The only allergist I know out there is in CDA, way too far for you to drive, but she needs to do the diet, and remember if she goes gluten free, and gets tested for celiac disease, it will come back negative..you have to be tested while eating wheat to see if the antibodies are in the bloodstream..so if you want her tested, can go to any Doc, to get a blood draw for auto antibodies IgA & IgE I think,,,then pump her full of wheat and take her to the doc for a blood draw.
OBTW:: People who are celiac have their intestinal lining ravaged, and the intestinal lining is where cells manufacture lactase, the chemical that breaks down lactose for digestion..so, if her system is ravaged, and in most cases can appear as if the intestinal lining has been scalede by boiling water...then it is not manufacturing lactase, so it will also appear as if she is """lactose intolerant""" when in truth, it is due to the gluten, and has stripped all the lining & cells from the intestine, and NOT MUCH gets absorbed intot he body, the person can appear to be starving, and hungry all the time due to the body needed nourishment and getting NOTHING absorbed..hpe this helps........

Humming birds are supposed to migrate but due to food being out year around they start to hang out here year round. I pull my feeders just before they are to migrate then put them back out for the lazy ones after all the migratory ones have left.

Rufous Hummingbirds usually arrive in March and is usually last seen in the fall, late August. Anna's are year-round residents. Calliope and Black-chinned occur in migration.

Black-chinned Hummingbird Migration
In spring Black-chinned Hummingbirds can be seen returning to Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona from mid-March through May. They reach Southern California by late March. It may be May before the species reaches the northwest states and British Columbia.

In fall they leave west-coast areas in mid-August and September. In Texas they are usually gone by mid-October. Most Black-chinned Hummingbirds winter in Mexico.

Rufous Hummingbird Migration --
In spring Rufous Hummingbirds migrate up the Pacific coast, passing through California from February to May. The birds reach British Columbia in early April and Alaska by mid-April. Birds arrive in Idaho and Montana around the end of April.

In the fall Rufous Hummingbirds are gone from Alaska by the end of August. They migrate through California in late June, July, and August. Many Rufous Hummingbirds pass through Colorado in late July and August. They pass through Arizona and New Mexico from mid-July to August. A number of fall migrants end up far east of the normal range. Some vagrant birds spend the winter at feeders in the east, especially at locations along the Gulf Coast.

Calliope Hummingbird Migration --
Breeds in western mountains as far north as central British Columbia. Spring migrants arrive in southern California in early March. Arrives in Oregon in early May. Birds may not arrive in Idaho and Montana until mid-or late May. Fall migration is early. Calliopes depart from Washington, British Columbia, and Idaho in late August. Migrating birds can be seen in Arizona and New Mexico.

How do such little birds maintain body heat throughout our cold winters.

No idea... brave little bombers they are

I agree with CL! Goats milk is awesome! However, the idea of it freaks some kids out! So maybe disguise it!!

I personally was drinking 1/2 a gallon of 2% myself a day of cow's milk! When I tried goat's milk right from the start I had a hard time because it is quite a bit thicker than I was used too. Maybe mix goat's milk with chocolate rice milk!

Yes, she does and love it..so lots. 2% milk. Cheese sticks. Yogurt when I have it in the house. Sour cream, etc. She is a dairy hound. Pizza. I try to blend our red meat intake with some vegetarian dishes (which the teenage boys absolutely hate) and some pork or chicken or fish every week. I try to mix it up.

how do I test her for lactose intolerance? Do I go to a physician and ask for allergy tests? Does anyone have a favorite web site. My web site time reading is limited as right now I only have 1 day a week off. I like to save my computer time to catch up on BYC
big_smile.png
I would hate to lose that time.

again, thank you so much.

She might hate you for this but cut her off cold turkey from ANY dairy! That means ice cream, sour cream, yogurt, any soft cheese, creamy salad dressings, cream soups..... ect...

It will take a couple weeks to a month for her body to adjust but I would bet that she will feel better sooner. Once her body is fully clear of the lactose proteins you will find that when/if she does ingest any then she will feel bloated, full, upset tummy.

A good way to switch her to rice or almond milk is by buying the UNSWEETENED plain kind and then buy a chocolate kind (rice or almond) and mix them half and half. Much easier to adjust to the different consistency and taste if your drinking chocolate milk!!

At her age I would be careful with to much soy milk. It can screw with estrogen levels and she doesn't need that going into puberty! But Soy Dream or Rice Dream make YUMMY ice cream. Mix with the chocolate rice milk for a nummy shake!!!

I have found that Fred Meyers has an awesome selection of Dairy free & gluten free stuff!!

Thank you for the information. DH is of course NOT on board. he just thinks she is pudgy and it would be a hassel to do all of this....so I know he will not be supportive or help me enforce this...so it will be very hard. I will have to do this with trying to make it special and coming up with ideas to tell her how this is going to help her. She has

It is just her mid section that is pudgy though. She has "muffin top" type rolls along her mid section. She does not eat loads of garbage...I don't allow it. She gets a minimal amount of normal kid junk food...other than that I try to make pretty round meals...well tonight is left overs.

Rice and peas with a chicken soup gravy (mixed with milk)....so tonight is not a good example.

I will do a bit more research and start this next week. School might be a challenge also.

They also eat bugs they catch on the wing. that is what they feed their babies also. i found a slug of dead mosquito type bugs lying frozen on the snow so i guess these must be what they eat in part. Bless the little Hummers

Ok I'm really going to bed now!!

One last thing - 4312- there is a book called "the maker's diet" by Jordan (something). Some of it is a little weird but, it has some incredible insight to some great things on your body and digestive track. Check it out from the library. It's a book that makes you go Hmmm.....

Ok...GOODNIGHT!!!!!!!

THis is the freaky part I do not understand why people LOVE cow's milk with all that smelly cow diareah in squishy piles and dripping down the cow's butt and all over the udder.ewwwwwwwwwwwwww
BUT the idea of goat milk freaks people out ?
For crying out loud !
Goats are cute, clean and make little smart pills, they rarely poop all over themslves and never roll in it..they are much smarter than bovine by a longshot.
All mammals make milk, none 'give' it...and as we age, our intestines slow down at lactase production..(just like every other mamal's do).we are thus weaned off the tit.
Yup, we are old, and not supposed to be on the tit no more !!
lol.png

But if you must, go goat.
Goat is most closest identical to our own milk and so we can more easily digest it.
If you DH does not agree, then feed DD alot of wheat, and haul her to the doc for a celiac blood test.
Does she ever get blisters on knees or elbows ?
That would be dermititis herpetiformis, fake herpes, itch like hell, and I never got them until I was 30 years old.
You cannot imagine the damage I have done to my guts all these eyars..wanna know if you have a gluten intolerance (allergy) or celiac disease (immune response) ?? Have a few beers, and see if you get totally blaoted out like you are pumped full of air...and it can hurt, the more damage the more pain.
You have to remember the intestines have no nerves except for pressure.
OK, good night all!!!
