Thank you....I will go look. I know that there has to be something out there that would work good....you are so injenuitive (sp?), such as with the feeder bucket. I already bought the expensive waterer....waste of money that was.

plastic folgers can....hmmmmm. Nail or screw in the wall....wrap plastic can with some wire (ie, bailing wire) a couple of times, twist off in back, make a loop and use loop to hang from nail. Viola...waterer. maybe? will have to experiment.

If somebody invents something creative and successful with the coffee can, please post pics. I am unable to visualize. I am making feeders out of rain gutter nailed to the wall high enough they can't throw it out, I hope they can't anyway. I wonder if I seal the gutters real well if that would work for water? Hmm, one way to find out.

thank you so much.
And thank you CL for all your information. Now to strategize and figure out how to do this and make it work.

Feed her wheat and take her to your GP, tell them when you make the appoinment you suspect celiac and want a test/blood draw done, do not take no for an answer.
It used to be 100% Northern European (Scits & Irish) but is becomming to effect much more peoples.
And not so oddly, wheat is very irritating to carnivours in general, dogs & cats.
Corn as well, another protien.
Gotta go feed the horde again!!
We were never meant to eat wheat..and never meant to be on the tit at our old age.
Think about it.

Yes, she does and love it..so lots. 2% milk. Cheese sticks. Yogurt when I have it in the house. Sour cream, etc. She is a dairy hound. Pizza. I try to blend our red meat intake with some vegetarian dishes (which the teenage boys absolutely hate) and some pork or chicken or fish every week. I try to mix it up.

how do I test her for lactose intolerance? Do I go to a physician and ask for allergy tests? Does anyone have a favorite web site. My web site time reading is limited as right now I only have 1 day a week off. I like to save my computer time to catch up on BYC

I would hate to lose that time.

again, thank you so much.

I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Ruled out Celiacs disease, Chrones(although my sis has it). But my general Dr. didn't check into things enough for me, and so I went to a G.I doctor( gastorenterologist)sp? He ran a few blood tests, took and x-ray for blockage, did a sigmoidoscopy, and we thought about the colonoscopy, but he didn't think it was neccessary at the time. I now manage my diet the best I can, I know what foods bother me at different times of the month(yes, that time of the month makes things worse). When you aren't getting the answers you want or the Dr. just seems to sort of blow it off, I go to the specialist, and to another one if I don't feel it's enough. I would ask for allergy tests from either a specialist, or you regular doctor. But I would recommend seeing a G.I doctor.

Celiac's disease can be diagnosed with a blood test. If she does get the test, she should not avoid gluten before hand.

It dawned on me that I should have asked a real question to get an answer...but yes...I guess what I was asking is from you with experience with these different disorders...do any of these symptoms sound familiar.

I will do some asking around for a doctor that might be open minded and actually listen to my questions and not blow me off as some hyper mom. She does not have diarrrhea...infact more often is constipated....I tell her she needs to eat more veggies and fruit. But, maybe it is more than that. Thank you.

Oh really? Well when you have the time, and you find it, please do email that to me. Wonder if these are the same hawthorns... I know that these are a hybrid cross, and have never seen berries on them. But then again these trees are HUGE and I dont get to see what grows up at the tops. lol Maby the berries that the article mentions are actually the budlets before they bloom? before the blossoms open they look like little white cherry clusters. Very pretty, and heavenly to smell when in bloom.

If I remember correctly, I was told by the Dr.s that my heart would never shrink back to its original size. So it will always be a couple cm larger than it is supposed to be... But I am willing to try holistic remedies, even though the Dr.s say it wont work.

Does anyone have any red clover growing? I really want to grow some this year, as it is FULL of anioxidents, and helps rid the body of certain nasty cells that I dont want to think about... Anyone? Or does anyone know a good nursery where I can get a good amount of Red clover?

Even if the herbs don't shrink your heart, soda speak, they can help with the function to keep things in balance and working properly. And if you buy some red clover blossoms at the health food store, make sure it's organic, there are always a few ( or many) seeds in there. Just like growing catnip. Never have to buy seeds if you want to grow catnip. Just throw some dried catnip where you want it to grow. Along those lines, I put old rabbit cages over my catnip plants and let it grow and fill up the cages. Whatever grows through the wires is for the cats. the rest is mine. Keeps the cats from rolling in young plants and keep my tea from having too many cat hairs in it.

So far all of our parvo pups have made it. They are put in isolation at the clinic...there are kinds of special rules for the isolation room to not spread the parvo to anywhere...change of clothes, spray the feet with Parvosol, only certain person allowed in...everything to eliminate contamination. The pups are on IV drips for as long as a week and shots twice a day that are painful. People have had to put out a lot of money to save their puppy when a $25 shot from a vet or whatever it cost at the feedstore would have prevented the whole entire horrible event.

I do NOT miss Parvo season..

being a cats only hospital, we don't see that.
I always felt SO bad for those dogs.. they feel AWFUL, and it is so expensive to get them to live through the whole ordeal. Yes, a vaccine is much much cheaper.

How old is too old for Parvo? And do you vaccinate annually like for Rabies? Or just once? I have 2 rescues and one runaway, and I'm sure the old one, 19 years old, probably had hers. And one puppy mill MaMa mini daschie that lived i a crate for 10 years pooping out puppies. Poor thing. I'm pretty sure they would have vacs her. But my other rescue maybe didn't get the shot. Going to check tomorrow.
I guess my question, in short, is if it's just a puppy shot.

You can also use large diameter pvc pipe with holes in it for water.. another thing is chicken water nipples and small pvc pipe run... attached to a large water source (like a 5 gallon bucket or 55 gallon drum)

I use water nipples as well as other waterers.
