For those who've been to the monroe show, how are the hatching egg silent auctions? Can I find some good deals and varieties? Maybe some rare breeds? I saw this an now I've got to debate, to keep the bator open for some eggs I get at the show, or get some elsewhere as soon as my quail hatch and it opens up

My mother-n-law got her chicks in marysville. She got 2 extra just incase some died. They all made it.

For about 20+ years I have gotten mine from the Arlington CoOp and never had any probs either. I will probably get some of the common stand-bys from there too. I still love my barred rocks and rhodies and EEs. Just gotta have a few of those ladies around. Mine are about 3 years now and so not real dependable for eggs. They are rather retired ... "Menopause Ranch" here. If they lay, fine. If not, well, I love em anyway. I'm not laying much anymore either. Man, I do ramble on ....

I don't know if it's true, but I've heard people who can't eat chicken eggs can eat duck eggs. You may have to get ducks!

Thanks for all your advice! I really appreciate it. We went out for Thai food tonight, yum! Of course she picked all the vegetables out of her fried rice

If any of you have Gluten free recipes for the bread machine, I'll take those. There is a Trader Joes in Issaquah. I'm down there every Weds for her harp lesson, so I'll hit it then. I did pick up Gluten free pasta.

I just clicked on my BYC page cause DD has lots of photos on there. I guess she has little dark circles; not bad. Nothing like my poor nephew...

DD had ear-infections a lot as a baby. Since she was allergic to every antibiotic they tried on her at the time, they wanted to put in tubes. We were building this house at the time, so we decided not to put any carpet in the house. She has not had an ear infection since moving. I tried dairy-free, and there was a slight improvement in her skin condition, but she was otherwise miserable. SHe loves cheese, milk, yogurt... She had terrible gas on soy products to the point where she refused to eat them because she did not want to get teased in class. She likes almond milk. I think wheat-free will be easier than dairy free. It better not turn out to be egg yolks! I have a cousin and her daughter that can't even eat bread baked with eggs!

It is bigger than I had pictured ... I just assumed it was a large dog-house size. Great Find! Are you going to put one of your RV windows in it?

I like the paint job! I avoided posting the photo of the wall in my new coop where I ran out of paint, only it is not as noticeable as it was cream colored paint over a light primer.

You can get some very good deals on eggs- depending on what's available. I would leave space and hope for the best.

I will be painting barn red with white trin to match the other banty coop that was also a freebie on CL. Gotta love Craigs list. I also picked up a fridge that might be destined to be CL's new egg storage.
Here is a pic of the roo that is on RonB's bell. Sorry I don't remember how big it is. I did that over a year ago. I will admit that I used MS DI but only to make the roo stand out better with that light background.

Cool Roo CR! Wow! I was not expecting that much detail!

DH wants to paint our cabin coop barn red with white trim. I think I should either stain it or do a clear-coat preservative.
