I got my incubator back from the elementary school Thursday night. This is our 3rd year taking chicks in to hatch at the science classroom at our local school. My boys have moved on up now, but they still asked me to come back. I set eggs on a Wed night, take them in Mon am and pick them up Thurs or Friday. I bring along a plastic tub with light, feeder and waterer and have the teacher take chicks out Wed and Thurs am and add a little water. This time, the power went out for a few hours Wed and the teacher said the whole office was scrambling, bringing blankets and hand warmers to keep them warm. Then I let families know I will give away the pet quality chicks at the end of the week. A little Russian family adopted a bunch last night. The kids spoke good English and translated my care directions to the parents. You might want to make a similar offer to your local school if you're hatching. It's no work for them and fun for the kids.
