We were so worried you were going to have BYC withdrawals, but seems like you busted out just in time.
And just how did you manage to peep us at the hospital??

I'll probably be hatching a few eggs any way and will have extra space.

Don't remember if I responded with the location of the secret cult meeting.

OK all, I'm going to buy the shirts tomorrow. Last call for shirt orders.

Hey Blue, have you been keeping a written list for the shirts? Just wondered cause I was on an early list but not a later list. Should I PM you? Thanks!

I got my incubator back from the elementary school Thursday night. This is our 3rd year taking chicks in to hatch at the science classroom at our local school. My boys have moved on up now, but they still asked me to come back. I set eggs on a Wed night, take them in Mon am and pick them up Thurs or Friday. I bring along a plastic tub with light, feeder and waterer and have the teacher take chicks out Wed and Thurs am and add a little water. This time, the power went out for a few hours Wed and the teacher said the whole office was scrambling, bringing blankets and hand warmers to keep them warm. Then I let families know I will give away the pet quality chicks at the end of the week. A little Russian family adopted a bunch last night. The kids spoke good English and translated my care directions to the parents. You might want to make a similar offer to your local school if you're hatching. It's no work for them and fun for the kids.

I too am very glad you had the wherwithall to call your DD. I too do not like going to the doctor....but you were being smart. You made the right decision. I am glad you are back and okay. Please consider my past "scolding" just a "scolding" because of how alarmed and scared I was and I was concerned for you. Also, thank you for posting on BEFORE so that we knew something was up. Unfortunately, I am not close enough to help, but you have an army of friends (some may be strangers in person) that would have been there in a sec. (you know who you are). TAke it easy and don't over do it.

Glad you are back.

If you ordered with T-Hi, you need to do this again because you need to choose a colour. Sorry.
The dark green shirt order is not working. Too dark for my ink.
If you paid T-Hi, that is fine, because we are working in kahoots together.
Thanks. Don't worry it won't double order.

I went and was checking out the incubators. I think the Genesis 1588 for me a beginner is a good idea. Now the good part - so does the DH.

I am eggcited to get to order it. DH thinks it sounds like fun. I wish I could talk DH into letting me just butcher them...but he does nto have the stomach for it....maybe I should just do it myself. So I will just sell them...I can put up a flyer at the local feed store.

NOW for some advice from you pros....I will be so small time it is ridiculous...but should I make sure to vaccinate these birds? I want to be a responsible owner. But I would bet that most of these will be sold to be butchered. DH wants a "Mr.". We years ago had the nicest/tamest BR roo. His name was Mr. The little roo we have right now is pure applesauce. He likes to attack....other day I "cole-cocked" him with the goody tray I was holding...sent him summersaulting. Anyway...bit off subject. the chicks I will be hatching are cross-cross breeds...just good for backyard hens or eating. Should I vaccinate? How long does the vaccination last once opened?

DH is trying to figure out how we can call this a "mini-farm" and what all we need to use it as a tax write-off. Any ideas?
