Or just let me know if you're looking for a super sweet roo....I will probably have one or two available pretty soon. My GLC's comb is so badly frostbitten he looks like a PQ Wyandotte comb now and my LS roo's toes look like Vienna Sausages.

OH NO!!!!!!!!! Are his toes BLACK ???
Do you think he will loose his toes ???

Nope, that happened last year. I just can't show him. And he's got some frostbite damage from this year on his comb too. He's a sweetie though....

How the heck are you getting all these awards ???

I would love a thimble berry, just one, to put in a big pot...but how do I get one ??

The platinum award is just because I am a platinum member. The Greeter is because I have been welcoming new members pretty steadily for a couple years.

Whenever I see a new member I pop in and say "A warm welcome from an imp in Washington" Then I try to personalize it by adding a response to their 1st post. Something like "Congrats on getting chicks" "you came to the right place to talk chicken" or "you will get a better response if you repost in the Emergencies forum". If it is a person from Washington- I direct them to this thread, if someone else hasn't already.

I'll put some of the thimbleberries in pots. We'll worry about getting them to you if I'm successful. I do like them, but they are not meant to be mixed with other plants, I might try some in a pot as well. Hadn't thought of that before.

Very interesting....did not know this. Our poor little Roo - his name is Tyson - not for the fighter but for the frozen chicken products, which he will become a frozen chicken product if he does not shape up. He is so pretty though. He gets jealous when we love up his girls, give them treats. The girls will come running to us and it makes him mad. LOL. So after reading my post and then your response....I got to thinking...Ican't keep one of my own chicks anyway for a roo as they would all be related, well at least the one hen would be his mother. All my "ladies" are very tame and nice, if the "nice" gene is passed by mommy then we would get a nice roo out of them.

Heather...this is a great idea. Has to be friendly...we don't care about a missing toe or a wrong shaped comb...we just want friendly. I just made the comment that Tyson was a S.O.B (ya, know the meaning). I used this type of verbiage as my DD is in the room. She says a "Sob"...what is a Sob? Um....a kind of car.....

Hey, Heather, since I have you on here....Do you know anyone who would "process" chickens if I were to raise for meat? I would not mind helping...it is just that DH does not have the "stomach" for it and I would love to be able to raise my own meat. For me alone to do it would be just too much work...I don't think I can do it alone. I don't know if I could do the actual "kill", but once dead...it is only a piece of meat to me and I have no problems and I am not squimish.

Sorry- I think it's a great idea if we can get it together! I plan on going to Monroe. Who wants to bring Tudy?

Why doesn't all of us attending bring our own Tudy, and print out a extra for those that have no printer capibilites ??
Or we can corner employees & passersby to get in the photo shoot with a Tudy as well!
I am telling ya, we will win!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, Heather. The DH and DD and I went and looked at your web site (I know you have nothing available right now) and I still want a NICE bird....but the DH and DD really like the "hippy Chicken" (AKA: Bantam Houdan) and the Coronation Sussex....I love the Cochins (large and small)...so if when you go to cull and you have a really nice personality Roo...please keep us in mind (of any type).

I am sorry for your Roo that has been hurt (comb and toes). I hope that he is okay. BTW, I love the Wyandottes too and not sure what a LS is...but I hope he is okay.

Also, I saw your post from yesterday....I hope that DH was a bit nicer about the truck being stuck. I hope that you are doing well. How are you? How is the baby bump coming along? Icky snow this morning....but at least it is melted now.

Edited as I did not want to seem calus.
