Hey Christina,

Keep an eye on those hens. I had a BO that was laying eggs like that - 3 oz. and a bit bigger - and she wound up prolapsing and then dying. I'd hate to have you have the same thing happen. Btw, ironically, last week one of my Pekins laid an egg that was 4.9 ounces.

Also, if you have any Cuckoo Marans that you want to sell, I know someone looking for a couple.

God Bless,

Hey - did I miss a party?
smile.png
I've just discovered the 'Washingtonian's' site. I'll try to keep up after this.

p.s. Does anyone know where I might find a female turkey (in Western WA) for my neighbors lonely boy? She's just nursed him back to health after a near death experience and has decided to keep him in his own pen rather than with all her other critters. He seemed to have suffered an unknown trauma and could barely stay upright for about a week. He's looking pretty good now, except for some missing tail feathers. He's living in a good sized pen on our fence line and gobble-gobbles at me when I go around tending to my crew and seems to genuinely appreciate it when I come over and talk to him. I think he's a bronze turkey, but don't know if a mate would have to be the same type or not. And, she's not planning on eating him - he's just a pet.

You finally made it! The party looks to be in February and Kim's house... please come!

Maybe eagle2026 has some? If not, I saw a few today on craigslist.

Someone posted about these a while back.

I went here this morning to check them out.............

For Sale: Storage Container / Shipping Container / Chicken Coop. Only $75.00
These containers do come in different shapes and size. Please visit our Lynnwood facility to pick out the one that is right for you. Delivery costs are based upon your zip code. For more information please call John at (425) 776-0176 or stop by

Hansen Bros. / PortaBox Storage
2902 Lincoln Way
Lynnwood WA 98087
Hours M/F 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Maybe this info will help some of you.............

Found out they only have the one size available that are 5x8 for $75.00
Looks to be close to 8ft ceiling.
I'm thinking of building 2.5ft wide shelves at 6ft level on both ends which would give me 3ft in between to shove up whatever I wanted up there maximizing space.

What I found out is they have some that open on the 8 ft side.
Whole 8ft side swings open from middle for much better access then 5ft side.
It has a post in the middle you can remove if you have something wider then 4ft to go in.
Going to get three of them setting them side by side eliminating siding on those sides.

Found out they will deliver 5 at a time with same delivery charge.

They charge shipping by zip code.

To give you an idea I live around 7 miles out of Duvall.

Shipping to my house is $103.00
That is 28 miles.

Because I have severe case of lack of storage these will not be for chicken coops.

The guy who repairs my computers is interested in 2 units lives only a few miles away so I'm going to call and see if an extra charge to go to his place and if so we still be ahead of the game splitting delivery charge. So you might want to see if your next door neighbor wants any and there you go save even more.

There is no way you could buy the wood for $75.00 let alone $200.00 and then labor to build will this is one sweet deal.

They unload with forklift so that is sweet if you have some railroad ties or blocks down they can set it down right on top.
Don't expect them to drive them across your pasture or anywhere they might have the slightest chance of getting stuck.
Hope this helps some of you.

BTW. My alias was excel but changed it to my real name because I'm on the net with two websites that have my name and figured oh well. LOL!

My daughter works at PetSmart and she says your chicken would be welcome in PetSmart. In fact one of the empolyees brings in her chicken all the time. They even had a small pony come in once.

When I see ya at the party in Feb. remind me to tell ya about when I almost drown in Belfair state park

I can't wait for the party...... I would love agood chickenstock too!

Hey party planners... Any chance of te party being mobility chair friendly? Also my barn or door with a bed. I can walk, but faint if upright too long.

Wow... 366 pages of Washingtonians.

Can't say I'd mind attending a poultry-based party, but I'm in radiography school right now and my free time is devoted to keeping the status quo at home!!

I've used duck diapers on a peachick before! Very smelly to change, but I'll tell you... slap one of those on and I'll take a duck, chicken or peafowl in my house before a parrot!

Yeah my parrots make a horrible mess. Wouldn't give em up though! My one is "kind of" potty trained.

I knew I loved that place for a reason

Believe me, I or we will do what we can. Let me know what you need.

I don't really need that many accomodations at the party. I will bring my lafuma recliner if it seems more appropriate. Do you have many stairs?
