Ohmygosh!!

So I got some Partridge / Blue Partridge Brahma eggs a while ago and now today is day 21. . . I have ONE egg in there, and it hasn't made a single peep. So, I decided to pull it out, grab a screw, and carefully open it and see what went wrong. Well as I was carrying the egg over to get the screw, it suddenly went Peep Peep PEEP PEEP at me!! So I rushed it carefully back to the incubator and hopefully I didn't just put it in huge risk of dying. . . Come'on chick!!

I just worry of how lonely my ONE chick will be when hatched.

I've never had just one chick before.

Oh, and at long last, pics of our new Boerboel puppies, who are healthy now, thank goodness, and came all the way from South Africa. (the female was from the central western coast though - Kinda the Congo area)

Excuse the mess, they're in the dog's play area, which is filled with trashy looking stuff like blankets and stuffing from them shredding up whatever ends up out there. Originally they had a covered area with blankets to get out of the rain, but some of the dogs like pulling things around on sunny days to play with.

This is the dog, name is Simon Templar. He was our first and hardest to obtain, came from S. Africa.

This is the female, name is Diana. She had a much easier trip however she came extremely underweight, practically emaciated, and is quickly gaining weight now that she's home.

Playing around.

They're growing like weeds though. Simon weighed 25 lbs last just 2 weeks ago, - He should grow to weigh about 160 lbs or more once full grown.

Okay guys....

Here is my sales list for the show....if you're interested in anything make me an offer (BYC discount, people!)
big_smile.png
I am bringing these to the show and will deliver them there. Otherwise, I bought sale cages and the prices will be higher at the show.

1 bantam spangled orloff rooster (no beard) but should throw bearded chicks. Might be a good project for spangled something else?
$10 BYC price, price at show $20

1 pair of calico cochin bantams 2 years old, proven breeders gorgeous! $40 BYC price, $50 at the show

1 bantam calico cochin cockerel, hatched this fall, super cute--great color. I'm no longer working on this color--or he wouldn't be going, he's THAT nice. $15 BYC price, $25 at the show

Blue Muscovy drake, 2 years old--gorgeous lacing. Imprinted at hatching, super friendly, proven breeder. BYC price $25, show price $40

White Sebastopol gander $40 BYC price, $50 at the show

I go to WSU too, a branch campus. I just took a huge test today, and will spend my break washing chickens and figuring out what I'm taking to sell as well as writing papers and hopefully other assorted stuff. I am looking forward to Monroe.. I'm already getting pre-show jitters. Get them every time- I think it's more excitement than nerves, but it still makes it hard to sleep all week.

I also have welsummer eggs to donate to the club auction or sell. I signed up a couple wyandottes for the show too,.. we will see how they do.

I know...i was just thinking about who needs to be washed...doing one more mite dusting and super inspection to make sure everyone's still good to go.

OK... I'll have to read up on ducks cause I'm clueless when it comes to them but would love to have some hangin' around.
When you say 200-300 eggs... is that in a year??? WOW

Yes, that is per year. If you want to read a good book on ducks, my fav is Storey's guide to raising ducks by Dave Holderread.
I got it from the library. But I needed it as a ref book, so I bought me a copy. When I went to pick up my ducks from Dave Holderread in OR, I got hi to sign my book. He is just the nicest guy.

How old is she?

9

She has a lot more integrity in some areas than I would expect - not sure where she gets it from. When she was in second grade (7), we were eating hot dogs at an after school event when another girl from the neighborhood and her mother stopped by to say hello. The girl said hello to Olivia several times, and Olivia completely ignored her. I was kicking her under the table trying to get her to respond, but she seemed completely oblivious, kept eating that hot dog and looking out past them like they were not there. Then the mother said "Well, Olivia, aren't you going to say hello to Natalie?" ... and Olivia kept eating, no response. When they left she turned to me and told me that Natalie always punches an Indian boy in the gut when she passes him on the bus, and when he tries to retaliate, she cries to the bus driver to get him in trouble; and there is no way I'm going to respond to someone as mean and dishonest as that!

Woo Hoo!!! It only took me an hour and a half to catch up tonight!!!!
