I got my first one from Incubator Warehouse.
It is a GENESIS 1588 with turner.
Got it for under $200 & it came with a candling light...with a coupon code.
You can see it on e-bay as well.
It is a funtastic bator!! I love it. Very accurate.

Stargazer sounds like what my chicks had too except when I described it I was told it was Wry Neck. Maybe they are related or get lumped together as being the same since they both have the same causes and treatments or end result.

I agree. Misdiagnosis happens with people so why not with chicks. How did your star gazers end up?

was not you that had an airstream trailer ?

No.

nope, I'm the one with the Airstream

a bit closer to you ... between Yelm and McKenna

flattered that you thought I was she, though ... she has MUCH more fabulous chickens

I honestly think it is better if they don't give a time frame. Maybe just something like well this is pretty bad, or this is slow moving. I have seen too many times when they say a short time and the person just seems to give up. But then I have seen them say soon and the person makes it a long time. At any rate just make sure things are in order. Will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Sometimes we just can't expect the doctors to know.
My dad had alzheimers for 20 years.
Most folks pass in much less time. My MIL's neighbour only had it for 3.
Doctors are not gods, and we can't expect them to be. Question them, challenge them.

The shotweed is blooming. You want to get that out before it goes to seed.

What is a short weed?

Shot weed is what I think it is. I call it spring weed cause it starts in early spring. Tiny white flowers that produce millions of seeds that 'shoot' out at the slightest movement once viable. Easy to pull by hard to keep up with!

Good Morning Illia! Did you and your Tolbunt boys get a good night's sleep?

And good morning to all. I see it's raining again already. The coop is so close to being finished this is a little frustrating. I'm pretty excited though - DH and I are headed to a free workshop put on by City of Tacoma Public Works. The workshop is on "Starting Seeds & Garden Planning". Pretty basic stuff for most of you I know, but I've never had much of any kind of gardens and we wanted to try and grow a few things this year. I'll have to figure out a way to block it for when the girls are out free ranging, but I am also planning on planting some special boxes just for chicken goodies. I'm hoping that my plan to cover it with screening and just let them eat the vegetation growing through the top will work.
The city will be continuing their free workshops all spring, on composting/worm bins (also new to me), soil prep and planting seedlings, rain garden how-to, pest management, spring cleaning with greener cleaners, and even Backyard Chickens!
This is all pretty exciting stuff for me. And best of all it's free!

So, this is a little premature, but here's the coop so far. Please ignore the mess. Hopefully, we're just a few days and a few tension filled "discussions" from it being finished. I did tell DH I truly appreciate how hard he's been working to get the project finished. He is a good guy with the very best intentions and he's put in some LONG hours so far!
