I turned it all back on, warmed it up to mid 80's with a blow dryer then shut the lid. I dunno, there might be room in my bra for 23 eggs...

While you are at it...tape the switch so no one can touch it...and tape it to the outlet and lable it witha big red tag....or put a rat trap on it.

I respect this method of keeping a bator connected.

Thanks for more options! Don't know if I can get past the crunch that the shears will make.

I don't even like it when I have to crunch a bug.

Ok so I called my friend she said starter fluid get it at a auto store.. So you put chick in a plastic bag and spray it in. GOOD LUCK

That would so work given that starter fluid is ether, and ether has been used as an anesthetic before the modern anesthetics. On the other hand one would need to be very careful because the starter fluid is very very flammable.

Last year, all my chicks came from Monroe Feed Store. And that began my heart ache. I had 7 chicks of 21 come down with what we think was cocci. I lost 5, nursed 1 back to health, 1 still suffers from some effect of being sick. They did replace the ones that died, but I would rather have known they were having trouble before I spent my money on birds there. They had an infirmary set up where they were nursing chicks so they knew there was a problem.
I agree they are fine people. I'm just not sure about how they run things either.
There is a great selection of birds, though.

Chicken Flambe! My brother is a California Highway Patrol Officer. Decades ago he worked a horrific accident on Pacheco Pass. A tanker truck carrying tequila drifted over the center line and crashed head on into another truck carrying cages of chickens. The woman driving the chickens was killed and the cages for chickens fell from the truck, many of the cages opened up and many birds got away, then the vehicles burst into flame, and buring chickens were running into the hills and setting them ablaze too. My brother told me that even a few years later, he would see chickens scarred from the fire running around there.

I got some Light Sussex eggs a week ago Thursday. I put 6 of the eggs under my broody Silkie. Well Miss Snowball caught wind that there were real eggs to sit on, so she was pushing Miss Inky over and the girls are sharing a nesting box. Well that set off another one of my girls. Buffy it turns out is a rather mean broody. So as long as the other girls were sharing eggs, I grab 2 of the eggs away, and I gave Buffy her share of eggs. So now I have three broodies sharing 6 eggs. I hope something hatches.

I over did it on Tuesday. There was more sun than I thought there was going to be. I found myself sucked into the garden, and it demanded some serious weeding. I only managed to get my nails done today. Uf Da! I hope that there will be some sun tomorrow. I need to pick up the meat birds tomorrow. I still have to but the brooder together.
