why don't you start one of those amish friendship breads and send it to people/ give to friends. it would distract you and.. i lost my train of thought. its all with good intentions. like instead of a prayer chain... its a bread chain.... since if a chick chain happened most women on here might get divorced from their husbands because of too many chickens... dad always uses that threat when mom wants to get more dogs. so the loophole is we foster dogs. so we own 4 but sometimes have 5-6.

would you like to try and work on part of my entomology exam with me? you can have fun identifying damaged crops and the insects and stuff.

Just got a call from a very upset DH, they stabilized Mom & all got to visit her then took her into ER to remove the icky pacemaker (why at this point I do not know!) and suddenly all the alarms went off, crash carst in, defibs ready, BP plumeted, and the ceased the surg & rushed her to CT scan=blood clot. They cannot find the blood clot but there must be a big one somewheres....they probably discontinued blood thinners during the surgery to help stop excessive bleeding, and when they did this can happen. I have not heard anything since.
I want to know why the heck they messed with her again!
After the infection was over & she was recovering, why why why did they want to take the new pacemaker back out????
So they could put a new-new one in ??
Gripes!!!somad
Just when she was recovering, and now near death again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!hit

I looked. I think my little chick is a cockerel.

I am waiting to see if I have a little roo myself

now they were all SUPPOSED to be pullets, the store didn't get any straight run chicks except for the bantams
and this is definitely not a bantam !! at a month old, pretty close to crow size, definitely at least fat-robin .. LOL

also --- seems to be coming in black-and-silver ... which someone told me was also indicative of roo-ish-ness
everyone else is a variant of brown barred, with blonde, gold, or rusty orange necks

the girls are starting to look so much alike, I will have to leg-band them to tell apart, I fear ...
luckily DH has a bunch of colored zip-ties that he uses to ID the wiring for his electronics stuff

DH took pix today, now to see if he can upload to computer and then I can send on to photobucket or flickr
(if I can remember my passwords ---

I decided to stop calling him IT. Since he's my only chick I was thinking Han Solo, but since it's a Dutch breed, I decided Hans Solo was better.

Only certain breeds can be wing-feather sexed at 24 - 48hr old. I'm unsure about the brabanters...

If Hans turns out to be a pullet, she'll be Hannah, which means 1 in Korean.

never heard of that.

I have heard of someone theorizing that on one thread or another. It does work for seaturtle eggs and some amphibians. Doesn't hold weight for the chickens- or so it is said. I have no experience and am only a chicken novice (only girls on this farm- DH is ok)

Also alligators and crocodiles.

Will you have bantam fav hatching eggs at Stevenson? If so, I'd like to buy some from you!

I can bring some if you want, though I'm still running my first test hatches. I have good fertility, but haven't seen the chicks yet to know what kind of quality I am going to get. I do have one hen in that pen ( the only salmon, all the rest are blue salmon) that has DQ leg feathering, but I've left her in for now in hopes that the chicks will get daddy's leg feathering....let me know if you want some though.

I'm hatching from some other lines right now to replace that female and hopefully get a couple of really nice salmon males.

What would you charge me for 6? I am on another waiting list but would like to have two groups of eggs to begin with so I have a larger selection of babies.

What lines are yours? I will have to go back through my email and see who this other person is that also has the bantam Favs...how do your other adults look?
