LOL! I know what you mean...trying to find females,.. but as a seller I'm sure you've seen the other side too... people wanting only females and no males. I get it all the time with silkies- people wanting 2, 3, 4, or more silkie pullets but NO males. I finally started charging almost the same amount for pairs as I do pullets (in pet and breeder quality birds) as I get sick of butchering and get sick of eating chicken, chicken, chicken! That, and butchering bantams is no fun... almost the same amount of work and not as much meat. That and I have a hard time getting my hands inside the cavity to pull the guts out, but I'm not as fast at deboning as I'd like. It takes me a bit to get the breast meat off.

I have ended up giving several cockerels away to 4-h kids who were showing birds that weren't as nice as the sale birds I had to choose from. Benefits me in two ways a) warm and fuzzy from happy kid with a stock upgrade b) find a good home for a cockerel.

I wouldn't bet on it. He has to do it when he's good & ready.

Hi Sheryl, I talked to you last year about one of your fuzzy butt cochins.

We are bringing our puppy to classes out in Woodinville and have seen your name on real estate signs. Are you in Real Estate too? Or different person?

I think you are thinking of Sunny and Greg Butler. Their signs are all over the Woodinville area.

Ahh, probably. We were driving to training class and I saw it as we were driving so didn't get a good look. Thought it said Sheryl & G___.

Hi Sheryl! Nice to see you here. I hope your Sophie is doing well.
I entered 15 silkies and 2 LF wyandottes. No geese this time,.. they are rockin and rollin with the breeding and I am afraid to disturb them now that everyone (except the buff toulouse) are laying. Did you get sale cages or a sale table? Since you have to provide your own cages for a sale table, I ended up going with cages this time although I will have some chicks with me that are too young for a sale cage.

For those who don't know about Sheryl, she is a breeder of very nice and highly competitive bantam cochins and frizzle cochins, and also took Ch waterfowl at Monroe with one of her sebastopols, despite the presence of some nice call ducks. She also has some very nice LF buff cochins, and BC marans.

My wife and I were having a discussion last night about the rivers and lakes in Washington.

When your not in flood season are your rivers and lakes clear or muddy? Do you have any muddy lake or rivers?

Exactly. You cannot just quit, you must WANT to quit, and for your own reasons.
Millions of people WANT to quit, but sub consciously, they really do not want to.
There is not a smoker or chewer alive who will not say it is gross and they want to quit, then a little voice in their head says no, we like it.
Therein lies the addiction.
It is a chemical addiction as well as a habitual addiction, too, with the nicotine fitting very nicely into nerves plexis and calms & sootes the nervous sytem, exactlly as dopamine does in our brains.
Dopamine production slows & stops after nicotine is introduced, so withdrawal from nicotine can leave the nervous sytem "raw" and irritated.
During a stressful time, he may not be able to quit.
Quitting takes conscious constant effort to fight, and hard to do when there is so much other stress going on.
It is easy to reason with yourself, it is very very hard to reason with, and control, your sub conscious self.
Hard to explain, but even though YOU (self) may totally agree it is nasty, and expensive, and a health risk, and you want to quit, your sub conscious wants it, likes it , and does not give a hoot what anyone else wants.
This is very evident when alot of people quit smoking, but keep drinking...and they do so well at quitting, until after a few beers they go light up a smoke.
Why ?
Cuz they have suppressed their good judgement by drinking, and the sub conscious is now taking charge, all the good intentions and reason is threatened.
The best quitters have to realize that there is 2 of you in this body..seriously.
The sub conscious mind is hard to beat, and quite fascinating....sometimes very scarey.
I underwent hypnosis to quit smoking (years ago) and even though I was a willing pateint and the doc was right there, I did not hear a word he said.
Nothing.
My sub conscious mind refused his subliminal suggestions and shut out his every word.
I used Chantex to quit, it makes you not care if your hair is on fire..I like it alot, no nervous freak out, it works. It is expensive though.
But long story short, if his sub conscious does not want to quit, he won't be able to fight it.

Most, even in flood, are sparkling clear due to clay soils and constant "flushing"'
Sparkling clean, clear and fantastic waterways & lakes here.
Wonderful drinking water, mostly soft.
You will love it.

FiL hatched Emus in the Farm Master as a lockdown & incubator was the gQf 1500.
They are weird birds, the males hatch..the females are alot bigger, and they makes noise like someone beating native drums...weird big red eyes...calm mostly and do not kick as bas as Ostritches.
Still, he has little grass there as it is high desert so he has to feed grains.
Otherwise the birds would graze.
