I have set-up a new thread for the potluck sign-up sheet. Please post the dish or dishes that you are planning on bringing to the February 28th potluck. I will do my best to keep track of things on the thread.

Here are the thread links. * Index * » Chickenstocks, Shows, Trades & Swaps * » Potluck Sign-up for the Washington Party

This is the hyperlink. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=277133

I really need to learn how to post a hyperlink. It's just too late tonight.

I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing this thread thing for both the places we called and now the food. I am so computer challenged that I would have pulled my hair out trying and still not accomplished a thing. And keeping things organized is such a huge help! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I hope I have this in the right place ! I didn't want to plug up the other 2 about the gathering. I would like to throw out some food for thought. IF there is more money collected than is need to cover the cost of the hall I think it would be a good idea to use some for paper plates etc. And then depending on what is left possibly set some aside so that if there are others that fall on very hard times and need help taking care of thier flock or what ever we could be there. I am totally in favor of the idea of donating to food bank but if we can hold the $$ then we may be able to help others in ways that they can't otherwise get. JMHO

I would like to get something if I could....be warned the pictures do, do them justice.
Great brooders though!

Gah, if I didn't have my neighbors able to look into our backyard from their deck, I would grab them in a heartbeat. /cry
So far everyone likes the ducks, but I think that would change if I brought that out here. I guess I'll still be brooding inside. Thank goodness for spare bathtubs.

I don't think that anybody appreciates a spare tub more that myself.
Here is a look at my tub set up.

whoops I think I put that last one on 2x.

I always put down newspaper for a base.
Then you can roll it up and discard the mass.
I few quick wipes with disinfectant and more news paper straw or chips and back in the game.
Well sometimes you have to use the shop vac if your using white chips.
Overall not to bad if your using plastic.
Steel seemed to rust after a year so I converted.

Here is what I did for my ee's that I got from del's. I had a huge rubbermaid tub, when ever i cleaned it out so I could put clean shavings I would dump the whole thing in my compost pile. Then wash it out with hot water and a bit of bleach (tiny amount) dried it out and put them back in. We had this in our bath tub so it was really funny that we would find some of them perched on the edge of the tub in the morning or pecking the carpet in our room. Thats when I got out the big cage and kept them there. I got a video somewhere of them flying in the cage.
