well i believe winter has come here. we have over a foot of snow.... i do not think the chickens would like to play in that deep of snow.... so now they are in confinement till spring......

i found a new therapy.
throwing fluffy snowballs at the rooster. she squawks when it lands on his tail. then the hens run over and eat the snow... then i grap a handful and drop it on them... then they are all aquawking and eating the snow!.... found out how to exercise them in the coop now.....

adding snow into the heated waterer = more water...

went up to stevens pass yesterday.... it was good... maybe today would of been better... oh well. the drive back down was scary. snowing so hard couldn't see which way the road was going. my bf almost drove us into the snow wall.... good thing i yelled left before he turned right...

wants more snow....
needs to scrape snow off the coop first!
now where is my bf? i got a new job for him....

I can't wait to meet you two ladies, it sounds like it will be a fun ride to kirkland!

Still looking for homes for some roos.. (If you want them to process, that's OK, just please don't tell me)

I've got homes for the pullets, I should know by the end of next month if I'm outta here or not. Hopefully that's not too long for you guys to wait for an answer. I've got a great home for the ducks.

Anyone want one (or two) potbellied pigs? They don't have to go together. Daisy is about a year old, unspayed female. Hammy is an ~ 6 month old, neutered male. They cannot be kept in the same pen/house as she's aggressive toward other pigs, but she's very gentle with my dogs and kids, both are currently kept outside.

Me too! Since we all drink coffee, we will have to make my favorite dessert for the ride over. You two arrange the extra large mugs and the rich French Vanilla Ice Cream. I will bring the freshly roasted coffee and French Press. Yummy! Maybe we better arrange for a driver too, so we can keep both hands at securely on 10 and 2 of our coffee mugs.

Nyrial - Keep trying to find a home on the Roos, and if all else fails, I will take them off your hands before you go. We will just have to get them down here. So you do have an exit strategy if you need it. I can't have the pot bellied pigs, but would love to have one of them. Just not able to here.

If it meant finding them a home, I would hand deliver them. I'm waiting for a call/email from Snohomish County 4-H to see if someone there would like them. I also posted them on Craigslist and Boeing Classifieds. I am going to put an ad up at the feed store next time I go. They've all been raised together, live together and free range together (except the EE), as long as they don't have to fight over girls, they get along great.

I'm going to seperate my two white leghorns in coops side by side until I figure out who is laying what. I will put some of my brown layers in with them to keep them company

That sounds great. If you are stuck with some and just have to rid yourself, No need to deliver. I have a friend (Moody's actual master) who travels back and forth to Seattle at least once a month. He transported my free Eagle chicks from Kims to here for me. You would just have to make sure they were packaged safely for the ride. He is not a chicken person. Again, I am your safety net if you need it. If you can find some good home for all or part of them... fantastic!

I was going to say that there are some days all the coffee in the world is not enough!! Love this thread. I feel almost normal here!

Ron - we are in the northern part of Bothell just prior to Mill Creek. May's Pond area. Did you go to Bothell HS? My parents, aunts/uncles, cousins and brother all went there. My dad taught math there forever except the few years he he taught in Woodinville.
