I never hear the monkey one, and as far as I know, that is one weird animal Australia does not have.

We sang it many years ago when I was a 6th grader at St. Aloysius in Spokane. My memory may not be as accurate as I'd like, but there are definitely lyrics about a monkey. We must have been studying Australia at the time because we also used to sing Waltzing Matilda. Perhaps a song choice Tyson can croon for his newest little groupie?

I had a good laugh over this. Right now he is not having to sing too awful loud for her as she is always RIGHT there.

So sorry to hear about your beloved FAMILY member. There comes a time when we need to think with our head and not our heart. I know it is not an easy thing to do but you can have the piece of mind that you have done the right thing and ended any pain and suffering for your loved one.

Ok opinions needed please!

I candled tonight, yes I know its early, but... Over half of the eggs the yolks are floating every direction I turn the egg, also the airsacs are all free and moving around. Only saw two eggs showing any developement out of all 30! And unfortunately those would be the banty eggs...

None of the Marans, or Sussex eggs have any sign of the tiniest bit of life, same for the BLRW... I left all eggs in the incubator and will candle again on day 7.

So what do you think, am I gonna have a bunch of nothing with this hatch? I already told little_grey_bantam about it, and told her I would let her know how the second candleing goes... But I am wondering if any of these eggs with floating yolks and air sacks even have a chance?

I'm hopeful but not at the same time...

WELCOME to all the newbies.

Okay, where all my hatching buddies? Any updates? I suppose there is not really anything to update. I probably have done a bad thing....but I had 4 eggs too many, so I found ways to tuck them on top as my Brinsea rolls back and forth. Somewhere in the process 1 rolled all the way across and broke one of the other eggs. I had to take the broken egg out and I have anchored the other 3 with a tiny bit of tape. Not sure how this will work. Basically what I am trying to say is that I have too many eggs in my incubator and I did not know what to do with them and did not have the heart to not set them.

I know some of you will be candeling this week. Let me know how it goes. I will candle either on Thursday or Friday. We are going camping for the weekend at Conconully so I want to candle before we go. We are going up for opening fishing season.

The egg sender sent me 4 "exhibition black" orpingtons. Okay now I feel like an idiot...what does this mean? I know they will be black...but what exactly does the "exhibition" part mean?

Yes indeed, and there is NO monkeys down under, verified my my mates down under, only 1 of which was on line right now as it is NIGHT down there, but still so much fun to chat with them, and discuss their chookies.

LOL except for the one I released.

All the way from Singapore.

Well what that means to me is that they are out of a show flock. But I could be wrong.

that is kind of what I thought too. The 4 were "tester" eggs she sent to me for free. I hope they hatch out.

Sorry to hear that.
We had to do that last Christmas too. Casey, our Golden was 15+. She was in too much pain just standing up.
It is hard to do, but in the end, I think you made a good choice for her.
