i think i just added Norwegian Jaerhorn to my list of eggs
by fall i think i will have the most genetically diverse flock in the state (in terms of potential for many kinds of crossbreeds)
i am breeding for egg type/production. mother nature will do the hardiness selections for me.
I found someone that will sell icelandic eggs to me and i will buy them soon i asked one last question to see if they knew how far removed from the original imported ones are. i figured they know what they are doing since they breed icelandic sheep for a living.

anyone locally have blue copper marans?
otherwise i will be ordering those and the the gold cuccoo (sp) marans and the partridge penedensca and blue birchern marans hatching eggs on my pet chicken soon.

i think i have progressed from stage 4 to stage 5 hatchitius
my mom heard that my bator can hold up to uh... 30x2x3= 180 eggs if i wanted to every 3 weeks... but i think the apocylypse is already coming with the 30 test ones i set.....
I think the most i would do is 30 a week and stagger a week on each tray. the cabinet restabilizes very fast after opening the door for a little bit.

I live just around the corner from driftwood - I am not too far from creator Lutheran ..

PS -- thank you for good hatch vibes!

I know where the Lutheran Church is! It's on "the new road down to Sumner". The road wasn't there when I was in high school and had to take the school bus thru Bonney Lake to Sumner. We would come up Forest Canyon.
We live about 4 miles from you now, I would guess.

o fun! chicken neighbors! whee!

They had no idea what to do with grass and omg the world got so big!

After awhile they started moving and then tried the grass out oh ohhhhhh what fun! scratching and chasing the others who got a bit of grass..... They did not want to come out of the tractor!
Will take photos of it tomorrow when I put out the other brooder of babies.

PEEPsicles! Isn't it funny about the grass?? I think there is actually an expression of complete horror and surprise on their faces.. until they EAT it.. then it's all good.
